DO YOUR JOB!

DO YOUR JOB!

DO YOUR JOB! -Not just the mantra for the Patriots!

Now the Inspector General will be providing training on procurement in Templeton- Chapter 30 B
-->
"... when entering contracts for services, supplies and real property, and the others had failed to follow those under Chapter 149 for building contracts."

So what's the big deal really?

According to interim town administrator Carter Terenzini "...
--> He said to selectmen, “I hate to tell you this, but this is old news across the commonwealth. You’re not the only place this happened. This is not the first time they’ve heard of this happening.”

The current Board of Selectmen are not responsible for this mess or so the story goes. It's all those nasty prior boards of selectmen that are responsible for everything. THIS board of selectmen will own up to NOTHING. Because they are Open? Honest? Transparent? NOT!
Probably time to give out more raises!

The irony of this situation is that the training by the Inspector General will take place on March 8, 2017. March 8, 2017 is the same day as the Municipal Finance Oversight Board (MFOB) meeting in Boston.  The MFOB granted  more time to the Town of Templeton so Templeton can demonstrate that Templeton has its books in good order. So the Town of Templeton can take on $47 million in new debt for the elementary school. Had to go to the MFOB because Templeton HAS NO BOND RATING!

So who decided it would be a great idea for Templeton to take on the debt of a new school without a BOND RATING? This current board of selectmen!

The new elementary school project will involve lots of contracts and "procurement" . Anyone wanna bet the contract that was "whited out"
[He noted that a prior Board of Selectmen chairman had signed off on a contract that had been altered by whiting out names. He said in some cases “it appeared it was a conscious effort” and in others it was merely to finish projects to meet deadlines.]

had something to do with the elementary school project?

But we, the taxpayers, may never know because

-->
"..He said details of the violations, however, are still among the auditing firm’s yet-unreleased “working papers” and will not be made public until the company finalizes its work and releases its management letter for the series of audits for the fiscal years

“working papers” and will not be made public until the company finalizes its work and releases its management letter for the series of audits for the fiscal years 2013 through 2016. These are
expected in upcoming weeks."

  1. Now, why would our BOS Chairman try to make it the fault of the Town Department Heads, that they received raises, even though they were not being held accountable for maintaining their budgets ? The Chairman would like you to think this is the reason for the problems the Town is having. Why doesn't he own up to not having the backbone to rescind the raises that had no money to cover them when they were put into place ? So, if he does not want to be honest, fine, but he should not get away with throwing the workers under the bus.
