  1. As far as I am concerned, the Advisory Board is as important as the Board of Selectmen, or maybe more. I say this because any spending the town does should go through them for approval and it is their job to watch out for the fiscal health of the town. It had been a sham, and as a result we were in a financial mess, but things have improved under the watch of Mr. Spring and his dedicated committee. The night Mr. Spring joined the A.B., it was run by a first year college student, with members that were doing the best they could. The chairman had no idea of what he was doing, but he was not at fault. He followed the lead of the Chairman of the BOS, so that paved the way for funds to be used any way they wanted, allowed or not. Mr. Spring has spent hours getting things in order, looking for ways for the town to save money along with his committee. If the town follows his lead we will be in pretty good shape in a couple of years. If you have time attend this meeting with the BOS..It will provide you with the knowledge to understand where the town stands financially, and what we need to do to stay strong. Bev.

  2. Down hear on the lower forty we are in full agreement with young Beverly Bart. A big thank you to all the qualified people who have helped our town on the advisory board. Back when I was getting out more the advisory board was the most important board in town and could be trusted not to act in self interest. Its good to see we got people who are working for the town. We could use use a hole town of Mr. Springs.

    1. Just for the record. A couple of the newer people on the A.B. came forward and asked Mr. Spring if they could become members because they could not stand back and watch what had been going on, without doing something to help. These people were readers of Pauly's Blog. One of these people told me he was getting so upset with some of the things that had happened, his wife told him to "go do something about it." It is so important to everyone that this town runs well, not only financially but emotionally. I think we are getting there, kind of one step at a time, but it is important that enough good people step up to help. The A.B. is the foundation of this town and how it is run makes the difference in what we will have now and into the future. These people make the map for the rest of the town to follow, and if we stay on track we will slowly gain what we have lost.. Mr. Spring has done a unbelievable job in the last couple of years and he deserves all the respect and support we can give him. Our financial picture would be a lot darker with out him and the rest of his "super team." Try to make this meeting tonight with the selectmen. If you do not understand something ask. Mr. Spring usually has time for people to ask questions. Bev.
