Is private land being surveyed for the "New School" at the "Old School " location in Templeton Center.
How can this be?
Isn't the police station next to the school?
Why survey private property?
Does the Town of Templeton have a bond rating yet?
Isn't this a TOWN project?
Does the TOWN have the MSBA reimbursement yet?
Show me the money!
On south road side of police station there were people surveying the lines between the police station and land Mr Whalen next door. Later in the day i saw him on the land in front of the fire station digging for a marker. The thing with surveying land is the markers must be found to tell where the land lines are recorded to be for mapping. When you have land survey done it may be different from what you were told the line was. Always survey prior to building or adding on. The land lines at my house were off by 15' in my favor and the problem i had with that was the same man was paid both times to do the job correctly.Careful who you hire. When at the Town hall i saw the new police chief and Ruth Miller haveing a meeting with Mr. Markel. Could it be the land at the school is being enlarged to make the new school fit? Speculation is grand. Whats up with 252 property and why no money yet. Is the purchase and sale agreement void or being altered? As the value of land and the economy get better we should put it back on the market and see about getting a better deal for the town.
ReplyDeleteRumor has it the "buyer" is on a certain board in town and had 1st hand knowledge of the minimum amount the town would take and bid accordingly. Of Course he had his attorney friend act as the buyer to keep him out of the fiasco.
ReplyDeleteI Say put it back out to bid again for someone that has the money to buy it.
On the school issue I sure hope Ruth and the Chief can't make a decision on their own that would effect the townspeople. Remember Ruth's word is as good as water in gas.
When the selectmen voted for the Templeton Elementary School site, we did NOT vote to include the police station or taking anyone's property.
ReplyDeleteI abstained on one vote because I believe holding a hearing about the TC site would have been a chance to gather community input.
I was told we needed to rush this through. Kinda like we needed to rush the wood chip boiler through. Kinda like we were told to vote on which site for a new elementary school and the TESBC had yet to make a recommendation.
Anyone see a pattern here?
I talked to Bob Whalen. He is not happy that his property was surveyed without notification or permission. Probably not a good way to go about gathering support for a project...in my opinion.
Did the TESBC take a recorded vote to survey Mr. Whalen's property?
Where is money from MSBA? Has the town received this money yet from the school department?
Where is the End of the Year report? Where are the school department's budget to actuals?
Why is it when it comes to the elementary school project, it's RUSH! RUSH ! RUSH ! but legitimate requests for information on the school budget...
Rumor has town figures are now available with regards to Town spending on feasibility study. Requested on December 29, 2014.
ReplyDeleteSo why bother surveying Bob Whalen's land? I do not think he is going anywhere, anytime soon. If he did want to sell, I would imagine he could get a good sum of money for his property. So where does Ms. Miller think the money would come from ?? Does anyone think the people in this town would be ok with tearing T.C. down ? Not if I have any say. I am pretty sure the school was deemed as culturally significant, so the money to fix the roof could come from the CPC board. The hurry up, with no where to go, is getting old. I wonder if the voters will see things this way. Bev.
DeleteTown charged me for 30 pages and gave me 5 and told me the rest would cost another $645.00. Might be time to pull plug on this venture until we have a real plan
ReplyDeleteWoW Jeff this sounds like there is a part of this town that wants you to not get the papers you request. With the cost for your request going up 7 fold who is the person from the town that says it will be almost 750.00.
ReplyDelete25 pages for 645.00 is 25.80 per page. I guess the estimated amount was figured by the same people who do the rest of the town money methods.
