  1. I spoke with a couple of students and they said some parts of school are warm others are cold.

  3. From what i hear the sprinkler system pipes froze and broke. If you don't get paid would you care or keep working?
The frozen pipes were the cause for yesterday no school. As the light an water dept. found out the hard way you need to expose the sprinkler pipes or put heat strips to keep them from a freeze damage. The electric heat strips don't cost much but there needs to be people who can see a problem prior to the event happening. No crystal ball needed just some background in basic building maintenance. Pipes need to be protected and the project needs to take that in account when they do work like the project they are now doing.

  4. Where's the puff n huff when you need the real low down. Not much for her to add lately,Is work getting to be to much?
With the amount of money in this chip boiler we have ok'ed there would have to be a catch all that would be a problem.
This job should have been started in May or June. The cost of chips is not known yet! The supplier of chips is not known yet! Is the fact we won't need them till june the reason for this? Who has the knowledge to head this project and what do we pay them.

  5. this is what we had

NRHS/MS utilizes a central plant consisting of two #2 fuel oil fired Cleaver Brooks model FLX
800 hot water boilers that are each rated at 6.4 mmBtu/hr output.

does anybody know what the btu rating is for the propane boilers are ?? it was not listed in the Feasibility study

the wood chip boiler was not and will not heat the whole place 100 percent it is only rated at 4.0 mmbtu
and the old boilers are rated at 6.4 mmbtu THATS FOR 1 BOILER THEY HAD TWO !!

idk something does not add up and i hope they don't freeze the whole building up

  6. While visiting institutions that have chip heaters like Athol mwcc, Keene, and checking resources online, the information is it takes 1 1/2 gallons of propane to get the same btu as 1 gallon of fuel oil. Google it and see for yourself.

  7. Bart said they could have kept one of the old burners, taken the oil gun out and put in a gas burner. His feeling is the propane burner is a design problem--it is just too small. Who is the genius that did the design ?? Let him pay for the damage, and what it cost to get this mess straightened out. Not on my dime, or the rest of the tax payers either. The town meeting that approved the wood chip burner left me feeling uncomfortable. I had the feeling people had more questions, but were afraid to speak up.That is not ok. Were they afraid the wrath of the moderator would come down on them ?? Just because their were no questions,(only one from John Henshaw), that does not mean it is a good meeting. Bev.
