Changed again, when will they do it right?
The board of selectmen again changed the agenda, this time on August 8, 2015, on a Saturday. I did not know the office of the Board of Selectmen was open on Saturday. More on that later. When current chairman of the board, John Columbus ran for office, he said that the Town had to be run by the book. There is a pesky little item called the open meeting law which is suppose to give public bodies a guide to follow to avoid doing the things of the past, such as when selectmen often would have gatherings at a general store and decide on things prior to meeting. There are certain things that are suppose to be done. There will be follow up on this later this week.

  1. I think most agendas can be amended after the agenda is posted.

One of the reasons for moving the legal posting of meetings to the town's website was to give boards, committees and commissions the ability to make amendments to the agendas in case an item needed to be added to the agenda. That does make it difficult to keep track of what is posted and what has been amended. At least all changes and amended agendas have a computerized time stamp.
