from the website of MSBA.....building with us

Four Worcester schools are being repaired / updated:

Flagg Street school opened in 1953

Francis McGrath     opened in 1976

Grafton Street          opened in 1887   That is what it says!

Jacob Hiatt               opened in 1990

So if a school opening in 1887 can be repaired or updated, can a school (s) opening in early 1900 be done?  Now a school open in 1990 needs updates, how long before Templeton 50 million dollar school needs work?

As for that accounting of the original $550,000.00 and the last $500,000.00, I plan on asking for that again, as a member of the Advisory Board, so I can bring it to the rest of the Board so as to be able to make an educated and honest recommendation to Town Meeting. Hopefully this time the information will be provided without a large dollar door stop put up. This is vital financial information that should be available to the Advisory Board members as well as taxpayers so everyone knows on what the funds were spent and to make sure it was not over spent! Does anyone recall the $989,000.00 figure when only $550,000.00 was appropriated at town meeting?  Learn from history or make the same mistakes over and over and over! If the school does pass, hopefully the district will take better care of it than it has taken care of the ones they now have!

  1. There is an meeting tonight of the Templeton Elementary School Building Committee at 5:30 pm. For a change this committee is meeting at Town Hall in East Templeton.

Maybe it is a town project after all?
