Contractors,Contractors,Contractors. Wow: the need grows for the water department to have a excavator sit on the side of the road to do their work. The need to have a excavator sit on a trailer and two private employees stand in the road without proper hi visability clothes fits in with the department as a whole! Ever wonder why the water bills are so high [ Almost the highest in the state] Watch how things get done you'll see. Another rate hike is sure to be on the way when the plan for a tank paint job nears. Sorry i meant tank replacement job. Lets see cement of steel? Lets do the most costly so we can get the rates up the most. Hire some more help. UNION or Non UNION. Do we hire someone not on the town payroll or do we hire a local 39 member? One would think if a local 39 member want the job its a "NO BRAINER" If a town employee wants it its a "NO BRAINER" If history is a clue the decision will be a flaw and will be from a no BRAINER. The fact Contrators before town employees are used as labor shows a lack of judgement. Unless its light department employees at the highest rates from another union they want to use. It's just your water bills they have to deal with not like you mind when the price keeps going up.
It seems the Water Department will jack up the prices as high as they will go, as long as no one complains. It is up to you the people on water, to stand up for yourselves, or just keep paying.
