TEMPLETON The Massachusetts School Building Authority has recently granted an extra $200,000 in reimbursements toward funding a new Templeton Elementary School.

According to Joel G. Seeley of Symmes, Maini and McKee Associates, the state determined that Templeton needed more reimbursement money to continue with the project.

Although the decision took place last week, the announcement was made public during a School Building Committee meeting on Thursday.

“In the way MSBA calculates reimbursement, they go over all the numbers,” Mr. Seeley said. “We submit what we think is the most accurate reimbursement. Then, they check it. They determined we need another $200,000.”

The additional money came in since the last public forum, where many parents were present, on Oct. 7 at Narragansett Regional High School auditorium.

Residents will vote on the proposed school, a proposed police station and other warrant articles during Town Meeting on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.

Magician Eddy Raymond, of Phillipston, will perform a children’s magic show during Town Meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. It will either be held in Kiva or one of the high school classrooms across the hall.

According to organizer Carrie Koziol, National Honor Society students usually babysit elementary school-age children during Town Meeting but she wanted something more structured.

“I needed to do something structured for the kids since you never know how long Town Meeting will be,”  Ms. Koziol said. “It could last several nights.”

She said children will find it engaging.

“Eddy gets the kids on stage to help him do magic,” Koziol said. “It’s interactive. The kids will love it.”

After the magic show, she said children can watch a movie or play games.

Ms. Koziol said Mr. Raymond graciously offered to volunteer his time.
