A Baldwinville resident ended February by cashing in a multi-million dollar prize on Leap Day, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.

Stephen Babineau won a $4 million dollar instant cash game, the Lottery said, chose a one-time cash payment, and took home $2.6 million before taxes.

He plans to use some of the money to remodel his home, the Lottery said.

The winning ticket was purchased at South Gardner Mini-Mart on South Main Street, the Lottery said. A bonus of $40,000 will go to the store for selling the ticket.

Babineau is the fourth winner of the 2015 “100X The Cash” game, the Lottery said. Tickets sell for $10.

  1. Great news especially for the lucky man! I though that such huge prizes are peculiar only to the draw jackpot lotteries raffled over-the-counter or online ( playhugelottos review ). I was mistaken. I have to play the instants for sure. May we all be so lucky!
