Annual Town Meeting Saturday May 14th 9 am

Annual Town Meeting

Saturday May 14th

9 am
It IS your business! Please attend the annual town meeting tomorrow!

By 2019, the debt burden of the town will triple in size. By 2018, "Other government expenses ..." will double. These projected increases will happen without voting for any other override or debt exclusion.

The cost for override for the school is not  captured in the chart above. The cost for the police station is not captured in the chart above.

The cost for the new water tank will never be included in this chart. If you have town water, you pay for that separately.

The cost for the sewer pump station upgrade on Pleasant St will never be included in this chart. If you are on the sewer line, you pay for that separately.

So, what's in YOUR wallet?

Attend Town Meeting!

You DO get to vote on the operating budget !

  1. If you believe the Town Report should contain a report from the town accountant and the town treasurer, please support the Advisory Board's substitute motion to split Article 1 into three separate votes.

If you believe the Town Report should contain the salaries of all town employees, please reject the 2015 Annual Town Report .

  2. If you d I'd not attend the Annual Town Meeting you missed the chance to vote the budget that would have supported the people who work for you. If Mr. Markel's thinking that new growth is wrong, the budget is junk. The people will get the government they deserve.

  3. Well if you weren't at town meeting you missed the BOH insinuating that the no fluoride crowd stole their signs concerning the lies about a nice smile and the poison fluoride. Thank goodness Mr. Hall our moderator was not carrying his weapon for I could almost hear Tommy J. saying under his breath "shoot this no-fluoride zealot now." I can't believe anyone in town could miss this type of drama without an excellent excuse. See ya at next years meeting, god willing.

  4. I for one am sick and tired of Tom J. getting up and saying the same old thing year after year. People have herd him time and time again repeat himself. That is one thing the Moderator can put a stop to. As far as a citizens petition going on the warrant i think now Tom may have a clue as to why we see repeat items like the important Fluoride warning and other issues people care about.
If some day the Fluoride scam is uncovered and the people who wouldn't listen finally do. What will the town meeting look like then. As with the they will raise your rates to pay for this also. They will forget and not own their mistakes put on their children. Can't say they weren't warned time and time again.
After all this is Templeton where only 40 people attended a annual town meeting and decided 13 million plus for you.

  5. People are frustrated with this system and many have given up, understandably so, but that is just what this system desires. Life is full of distractions many put here so that you don't have the time to understand what is important in life. In my opinion the health of your family and friends comes first and that is why the group that opposes water fluoridation will continue the good fight. Thanks for all who supported trying to make our community a better place to live by opposing water fluoridation.
