TEMPLETON — The popular Town-wide Yard Sale enters its eighth year with the aim of raising money to benefit the Narragansett Regional High School marching band.

The yard sale, set for May 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., began as an event and fundraiser for Templeton’s 250th anniversary celebration in 2012.

Due to its popularity, the yard sale has continued to be an annual event.

Each year, the event’s founders donate the proceeds collected (from entry fees, maps and food) to a worthy organization.

This year, they have once again selected the Narragansett marching band, which originally needed a trailer to transport equipment and uniforms to and from parades and competitions.

The trailer was purchased last year.

Since then, additional proceeds have paid for the decals placed on the outside of the trailer, as well as the internal modifications to house and protect the band uniforms.

The continued success of the Town-wide Yard Sale year after year has resulted in paying the cost of the trailer as well as its upgrades.

Fees for the yard sale are $25 if you sign up after April 25; $20 if you sign up earlier.

Contact Gail or Alyssa at Country Mischief, 978-939-5460, to pick up entry forms with additional information.

Sign-ups prior to May 4 will be included on the yard sale map sold during the event.

Special thanks to Gail Whittle of Country Mischief, her staff, and her son, Scott, who continue to organize the event, as well as the Narragansett marching band for the help it provides during the event by selling maps and food.
