On Wednesday, Attorney General Healey overstepped
her authority as Attorney General in an attempt to further
restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners in
Massachusetts. For the past 18 years firearm retailers have been
operating under an interpretation of the law that has been supported by all
state regulatory agencies; however, General Healey unilaterally
decided that these retailers have been illegally selling firearms that are
“copies or duplicates” of “assault weapons” which are prohibited for
possession sale under Massachusetts law. Attorney General Healey is
creating a new definition outside of the statute that currently regulates
so-called “assault weapons” in Massachusetts, and this new definition could
lead to a total ban of all semi-automatic firearms in the state.
Please show your support for the Second
Amendment by attending a rally at the Massachusetts State House to protest
General Healey’s decision to ban the sale of commonly owned semi-automatic
firearms in Massachusetts.
Legislators will be in special session this weekend, so
please be at the front steps of the State House by 10:00 a.m.!
