Distracted Driving and Templeton Elementary School

May 2018 incident.

A South Carolina sheriff's deputy nearly crushed a teen girl as she attempted to board a school bus last month. In a shocking new video, Jordan Reyes (main, circled), 15, is seen standing in the driveway of her home as she waited for the bus to stop. Moments later, the Pendleton High School student is seen jumping out of the way as an unidentified Anderson County Sheriff's Office deputy drives past the parked bus. The deputy had been distracted by the GPS. He has since been suspended.

Last week, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office released an instructional video (left inset) targeted at first responders that featured Reyes and Sheriff Chad McBride. In the caption of the video, the sheriff's office said Reyes 'wanted to take what could have been a tragic event and turn it around to something positive for all first responders'.

Templeton Elementary School Building Project -

Might want to re-think students exiting school buses into traffic.

Kudos to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office and Jordan Reyes for creating this PSA .
