A Brighter Day!!

Templeton voters who have been waiting for a breath of fresh air in regards to the replacement of our past town coordinator got their wish with Mr. Stewart’s comment “they were all so good” in regarding the qualifications of the remaining candidates for the position of Town Coordinator as reported by Mark Haranas on 11/29/11 in TGN.

It would appear that Mr. Stewart is impressed with the credentials that these candidates bring to the position of town coordinator. It would also appear that Mr. Columbus likes what he sees with these fine remaining candidates.  Qualified candidates, who knew?

I applaud Mr. Stewart and Mr. Columbus for putting the town’s best interest before those of the self -interest club and moving ahead with the task at hand.

With the many responsibilities and people skills necessary to run a town we are lucky to have Selectmen who see just what is needed for this most important position.

It is alleged that many mistakes have occurred over the past several years at the selectmen’s office involving the town coordinator that has cost the taxpayers a fortune. We are all a little wiser and bit lighter in the wallet because of these mistakes.

It is also true that an unhealthy situation (in regards to the town coordinator position) needed to be emphasized by the Department of Revenue in their report to the town.

With so much at stake for the town it is good to see both Mr. Stewart and Mr. Columbus in agreement with the other three members of the Board of Selectmen, working together in the town’s best interest, filling the town coordinator position with a qualified candidate.

If you close your eyes and inhale deeply it is not so difficult to see all members of our Board of Selectmen holding hands and marching together in our upcoming 250th Town of Templeton celebration, passing our new town hall, where ever that may be, singing, we shall overcome!!
