‘Twas the night before Christmas,

Sent to me by and anonymous blog follower................................

‘Twas the night before Christmas,
And over at Echo Hill,

The air was cold,
And Carol shivered with a chill.
Town documents were stacked by the fireplace with care,
In hopes that they’d all be destroyed before Martha Coakley gets there.
The stooges were all snuggled up in their beds,
While visions of blueberries danced in their heads.
And Ginny in her nightgown, and Bubba in his cap,
Already asleep, Mullins dreamed of what he could scrap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
The Skeltons sprang from bed to see what was the matter.
A group of town residents, who could it be?
People smart and kind, who call themselves C4T!
“Now Bubba, now Ginny, now Scrappy, now Dennis”

Dispatch to the barn,
And deal with this menace.”

Gerry’s eyes -- how they burned! His face, how scary!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His twisted mouth was drawn up in a scowl,
And he stood in the night grasping a trowel.

He sprang to his Cadillac, and to his stooges gave a whistle,
And away they all sped like a rocket-launched missile.

But I heard Gerry exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"SEE YOU LATER DEAR FRIENDS, I CAN’T WIN THIS FIGHT!"

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.............Hee-hee-hee - Pauly

  2. While I applaud your poetic skills, I don't think this kind of bullshit is very helpful to resolving the town's problems.

    1. I think is fitting that we can smile at a cute play on a Christmas Story. After some of the things we have endured, being surrounded by police at a public meeting, thrown out of public meetings, this is not the worse thing that could be said or written. I say chill out, Tom J. This is not meant to "solve the towns problems", that may take a full scale investigation by the Atty. General. Gee, is that tax rate set yet? May a New Year come soon. Bev.

    2. Bev, just curious as to why you are asking a Sewer Commissioner if the tax rate is set yet?
And by the way, no it is not, still waiting.

    3. Steve, I was not asking Tom J. Just asking a question to see if I would get a answer, and I did. It is surprising, what you can find if you keep looking. There has to be a end to the surprises our town will have to get out from under, due to the work of the Echo Hill Gang. We may find that they did not do this all alone. Follow the paper trail! No matter how hard they work to cover their tracks, there is still a trail. bEV.

  4. and it looks as though Templeton will have to have a state mandated special town meeting before the rate is set, something about the books as in accounts not in line, surprise surprise.

  5. No chance we will get tax bills before year-end? so for those who itemize federal income tax, we will not have that opportunity for this quarter?

  6. Yes Mark,
That is correct. The town will need to hold a STM to rescind a vote from May and adjust the figures for this year's budget before the tax rate can be set and bills issued . Plan accordingly.
