“The
Investigation” … S623
After
stalling in the Joint
Committee on the Judiciary since January 22, 2013, it was good to receive
the following notice yesterday:
Jeff;
Denise Andrews
just called (11/19/13 @9:42 am) and asked that I let you know she received the
letter the Board sent regarding action on the Special Investigation for the Town Senate Bill
S.623. She spoke with Senator
Brewer and they will be pushing this through the Judiciary. She said the letter
was very helpful and asked that we let the Board know that there will be action
taken and to thank them for the letter. If you have any questions, just call
her office.

The
letter referred to in this email is the letter the Templeton BOS wrote to Senator
Brewer asking to schedule a hearing for this bill.
To
refresh your memory, “The Investigation” is a request for the attorney general
to review four issues in Templeton that remain unresolved and have had a
negative financial impact on our town’s finances. These four issues are:
“Notwithstanding any general or
special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, the citizens of the Town of
Templeton hereby request an investigation by the Attorney General into the
following incidents:
An investigation into the
activities of the Municipal Building Committee to include all transactions
regarding the purchase of the 252 Baldwinville Road property and the USDA loan
application process.
An investigation into the
procedures and activities to allow the settlement and return of a gift of
$369,681.40 to Casella Waste Systems on November 13, 2008.
An investigation into the
activities of the Templeton Board of Selectmen and the Templeton Municipal
Light Department to enact Chapter 93 Acts of 2000.
An investigation into the
activities and actions of legal counsel, Kopelman & Paige, regarding case
02-2424C heard before Judge Cornetta of Worcester Superior Court as well as the
settlement of the Templeton Waste Water Treatment plant lawsuit and the Writs
of Attachment.”
Currently, the most pressing financial issue is the status of the water enterprise system under Chapter 93 Acts of 2000. The water department receipts were taken off the Town of Templeton's accounts in 2009 and this was allowed by the Department of Revenue. Why?
More information about these four
issues can be found on the Important
Documents on the citizens4templeton website. These are large files that
need to be downloaded before the links will work.
My opinions…supported by FACTS ! ! !
Julie Farrell
Please support Mitchell for Selectman!
ReplyDeleteRemember the past to ensure a better future.
The nuclear option should never be used.
Please do not support the nuclear option.
It is my belief that Mr. Mitchell was treated unfairly in his last run as Selectmen and deserves another chance at this position. Mr. Mitchell will stand up for your vote and hopefully not use technicalities to undermine the voting process. Mr. Mitchell is a man who loves Templeton and has spoken against the "nuclear option." Vote Mitchell for Selectman!
ReplyDeleteRun BOB Run!
ReplyDeleteYou have my VOTE!!!
It is about time Pauly's investigation got started. I must say it took a bit of arm bending to get Mr.Brewer to give this bill a push to get it looked at, so it would not just die. Credit has to go to Rep. Denise Andrews for her support on this issue. The result will put this conflict to rest for once and for all, and the town's people have a right to get to the truth. As for our upcoming election, it is not a good idea for anyone to run on a pet issue, because the job requires a commitment that you work for all of the people in the town, not just a chosen few. Bob was not treated fairly, the last time he was on the BOS, due to our friends at Echo Hill. Bob does understand the requirements of the job, so you could ask why run again ? Because like the rest of us, he wants the best for the people in this town, and has no hidden agendas. He is willing to put in the time that it takes to do this job right, and I do mean more than flipping through paperwork, a few minutes before walking into the BOS meeting, that does not cut it, when big decisions need to be made. Like Dave says, Run Bob Run, for the good of the town, and the people who work hard to pay their taxes. Bev
DeleteVote Haley-Brooks for selectman.
ReplyDeleteGoverning is more than bumper-sticker slogans
Isn't this the same Bob Mitchell that said in open meetings that he wanted to bring back stipends, wanted a break on his taxes if he won, & his goal is to be the first selectman to recalled twice??
ReplyDeleteBe positive H-B. Don't try to tear down a candidate with false statements. Mr. Mitchell was joking when he made that statement. Anyone who was there knows that. I'm sure there are less-catty ways to promote your friend.
Deletelol. Those are true statements. He made them, not me. & anyone who is for adequately funding both town AND school doesnt need my help. They already have all the voters that voted FOR it.
Delete... we could always go back to, "THE VOTERS ARE A BUNCH OF GANG RAPISTS!"
DeleteBefore anyone goes all happy about taxpayers wishing to "properly" funding town and school, be aware of many people voted for override so the town would not go down rather than funding the school. Many voted for the override were not happy to do so but they did it so the town would not go down and lets see the school try this same thing again and see what happens. Of course, soon we will see what happens or what can happen. Support Bennett for school committee.
DeleteOh, thats right, You Werent even at the JTM where it was OVERWHELMINGLY APPROVED!
Deleteexcuse me H&P, if you are referring to Jeff Bennett, I was most certainly present at that joint town meeting!
DeleteSorry, there were so many people there IN FAVOR of the funding, I must have missed you. Maybe had you spoken up, like Mr. Robinsen, we would have noticed you.
DeletePuffy,
ReplyDeleteBad mood?
The nuclear option is should never be used.
Vote Mitchell for selectman!
Remember the past to ensure a better future
actually in a GREAT mood dear..... just doin my job
DeleteJust wonder who in the world would pay you for "doing your job" ?? George Barnes better watch out, we have another critic in the audience, even though he seems to be very bias, and does not have much of a sense of humor..
Deletewhat the hell are you rambling about now? Nobody pays me to speak. Does Julie pay you?
DeleteVote for Mitchell!
ReplyDeleteRemember the past to ensure a better future .
The nuclear option should never be used.
remember the past, we are gang rapists
ReplyDeleteThe voters wAnt funding.
Vote Mitchell for selectman!
ReplyDeleteRemember the past to ensure a better future.

Vote Bennett for school committee!
ReplyDeleteVote Mitchell for Selectman!
Remember the past to ensure a better future.
The nuclear option should never be used.
Remember the past, we are gang rapists, Bennett was out of the country, & Mitchell wants to be recalled before being elected.
DeleteThe VOTERS APPROVED the funding!
Puffit why do you leave out the "financial" part?
ReplyDeleteEven my mother in law understood it and agrees with it.
Most others do too!!!
huh? Thats all I've been saying. The VOTERS APPROVED the financial part at the JTM! This is what we wanted, voted on, & approved!
DeleteH&P, I was not at the joint town meeting to be noticed, I was there to vote. Perhaps before you speak on me or for me, you should check the facts. Yes I was out of the country doing military duty and your point? BOS members were asked where they wished to sit for the joint town meeting, on stage or in audience.
ReplyDeleteMy point is the voters want someone who is present to do the job. And if you were there, then you understand that it was Overwhelmingly approved. Why would you continue to go against the biggest block of voters, & expect to get elected to their SC?
DeletePuffy,
DeleteI believe it OUR school committee. Everyone votes for school committee, not just the parents of children i the school district.
Really?
"their SC?"
Whats this I here that we have lost two more employees of the town. Moving on to another town that will pay them what they are worth. Don't blame them for leaving,we will lose more under the cheapass leadership that we have now. When will they learn to run this town like business. its getting worse every day. WHO'S NEXT
ReplyDeleteYou mean like spending only what you can afford and not more than you can raise? That is called budgeting as in expenses and revenue. There was an anonymous $5,000.00 donation presented to the school committee tonight, perhaps Halfway up could donate to the town to help out the taxpayers.
ReplyDelete*clap clap clap* your first SC meeting?
DeleteVote Bennett for school committee!
ReplyDeleteVote Mitchell for Selectman!
Remember the past to ensure a better future.
The nuclear option should never be used.
Can't wait to take out papers to run for school committee!
Puffy, every time you type anything into your computer you just stick your foot in your mouth, and become less and less creditable. Just in case you do not understand what you and your supporters did when you used the "nuclear option" on the town, you had better start paying attention. This action backfired on you in the worst possible way, and it will not work again. You may think you won the battle, but you lost the most important part, YOU LOST THE WAR !! Nice going, because you hurt the people in this town and it just comes down to the fact that they pay the way for the schools in this town, and they will not bail you and your friends again. What is that old saying, "you reap what you sow", nice going. Bev.
ReplyDeleteHOLY CRAP! You are sooo out of touch! You were there! THOUSANDS showed up to vote IN FAVOR of it.
DeleteThe nuclear option raised much needed revenue for THE ENTIRE TOWN!!! All it did was ensure jobs& solvency.
You cant run a town with no revenue.
It was said that they were "Financial" gang rapists.
ReplyDeletePuffit leaves out the word Financial!!!
Don't be fooled again Templeton VOTERS!
Your Light and water Commission is helping the Light and Water Department Manager bend/break your budget Too!
Are you ready? Help us stop the Budget inflation for no Reason. 100,000.00 YEARLY To maintain the Wind turbine? A 100% increase unforeseen, The compliance is with the laws not followed, now we need to pay for their mistakes.
Remove the commissioners one by one and take back our Light and Water Dept.
Help us STOP the "budget inflation" for no good reason. No explanations for why they need it.
Wow, H-P, THOUSANDS? At the STM? There must have been at least 1600 in some remote room somewhere, they sure were not in the auditorium.
ReplyDeleteJTM Mark
DeleteThere were only hundreds, not thousands at the joint town meeting.
ReplyDeleteSorry, your right. I was confusing the last override #'s with JTM.
DeleteWhat would be interesting to know though, is the difference between the first & last vote. How many more came out?
All the numbers to your questions are right on the town website. To save you the trouble, here they are:
DeleteApril Override vote:
Yes 1,038
No 1,211
Blanks 166
Total 2,415
June Override vote:
Yes 844
No 1,132
Total 1,976
October Override vote:
Yes 961
No 746
Total 1,707
Attendance at the Joint Town Meeting:
Templeton voters: 430
Phillipston voters: 125
Total: 555
With these numbers you may want to rethink some of your comments, Huff.
90% of Pauly bloggers are here because they take an interest in their town and want to read articles and read and write comments about what is going on. Some valuable information does not appear in traditional newspapers, but does here. 10% are here to simply rile people up, bully, and negative campaign for political reasons. So, are you here to engage in civil conversation regarding town issues? Or are you here only to cause trouble? I hope you are here for the first reason because the town needs everyone to work together and every idea and suggestion given to an issue is needed and appreciated. We already have enough dummies on here to call people names and act childish. Please share your ideas on the issues without being so angry.
I wish everyone on this blog would realize that you don't have to win an argument by belittling someone. You can win an argument with facts and rational thought. Or even better...stop trying to win an argument in the first place. Just make your point and let others agree, disagree, or dismiss it. Communication is the major obstacle for success for Templeton. Not finances, school, this group, that group. This town has to learn to be more respectful toward one another and carry on discussion with civility until a solution is found. I hope the candidates for selectman and for school committee and any other elected office from here on out give their ideas for improving communication in Templeton. Then problems will be solved left and right.
Does Templeton really want a selectperson who sends a two page letter to the governor by starting the letter "Dear Duval"...seriously people...more of the same from the Fraud Farrell gang.. all truth
ReplyDeleteNo surprise the truth came back out of it's hole after the puffit got in the corner again.
ReplyDeleteTruthless is what we hear and a lack of substance is all it is.
Just unplug your device and go away, what you do Truth is senseless!
Your lack of facts prove my point!!!
Blog on and ignore the mindless,"The Truth is truthless!!!
