  2. The news that we are again having financial difficulties brought a good size crowd to last nights meeting. I am not surprised by what is coming out as a result of moving all of the town's money transactions to our new operating system. I do not think there is money missing, in fact there has not been enough money, so the old shell game was played. Sorry there are people responsible, but none are on the BOS that are sitting in front of us now. The fact that we have no money is what pretty much all of us have been saying all along. Maybe now people will listen !! The police chief was very upset, and he has a right to be. We are all upset but he was wrong about the fact the BOS should have known what was going on. The paperwork the departments use are called the green sheets, recap sheets, and they look good.. The information to show that we have less money that we need, took our new accountant a long time to figure out himself and he is a professional person. To say that the BOS members should have known this is just plain foolish and deceiving. From what I understand, the program our last accountant used did not have the checks and balances our new software has, plus he had been audited all along, and the auditing company found nothing wrong. Blaming the people who have worked so hard to get things straight is down right wrong. We have to live within our means, and dig us out of a hole once again, but we can do it. Bev. .
