HUBBARDSTON — An incident on Gardner Road (Route 68) Wednesday involving a man who had barricaded himself in a structure ended peacefully, state police said.

State police Sgt. Thomas Ryan said troopers from the state police STOP team, the hostage negotiation team and the bomb squad went to Gardner Road before 4 p.m. to assist local police. Sgt. Ryan said to his knowledge, there were no explosions, shots fired, or injuries, and the incident ended peacefully.

Roads were blocked off for more than two hours during the response. The sergeant said any more information would have to come from local police, who could not immediately be reached for comment.
