If your water service is still affected by the water breaks, please let the blog know. Everyone in town should have received a phone message about the "State of emergency" for Templeton due to the water breaks. I'm not sure if the reverse E911 works, if you only have a mobile phone and have disconnected your land line. If you know of an elderly person who is without water, please check in on them. It does not take long to get dehydrated in this weather. Hopefully, water service will be restored soon for all residents. Julie Farrell

Did not receive a phone call. Water has just been restored in the last 10 minutes. Many thanks to those who have been working all day to fix the breaks!

DeleteJust wondering if you have a home phone, does it have an ansewering machine. I wasn`t home at the time and I recieved a message on my ansewering machine and I live in Templeton and do not have town water. I think every resident in town, with and without town water, got a call. Do you have a block on your phone? I always say those blocks people put on their phones can come back to bite you in an emergency. Just curious to see why you say you didn`t get a call. Every one I talk to in my neighborhood said they got a call.
Facts are- a total of 10 main breaks,9 are fixed and holding, 1 still in need of repair behind old bank. the jist of it seems to be a single break happened and caused a chain reaction of automatic booster pump activation. This boosted pressure above normal and our pipes failed to hold the extra load. 100 normal and boosted t0 150 is the pressure that main was subjected to. Most were broken at flange areas where tapers start for joints, pipes are thin there and weaker.Bud gets nothing extra,as in the october storm. He's there for the good of the town. And his employees. Thanks Bud for bailing out our town again!
ReplyDeleteLate last night I wrote on one of the past blogs, I spoke to Bud yesterday afternoon. He told me the water tower near the nursing home was empty. All of the water drained out of it. It is a blessing that we did not have a fire while this was going on. Some thing needs to be fixed so this does not happen again, if we can. If you stop to think about, it is a scary spot for the town to be in. Bev
Deleteno news in the telegram this morning is Mr barns still boycotting on reporting on Templeton issues????and how many of you good folks out there stayed up late last night sipping koolaid and waiting for the Northern lights to appear ??
ReplyDeleteBud should send a bill to john driscoll for all the work on the water pipes, overtime, use of equipment etc should be around $150,000.00 and there is a new loader. Light charges water dept rent so the town should bill Templeton light & water, let the commissioners take some money out of there reserve and hand it over, otherwise next time, bud and highway should tell water to fix own problems, call driscoll and tell him to manage it as he says he does not work for Templeton. That is my opinion
