ReplyDeleteMaybe that is the reason
NDETFFI the question was "why"not!
ReplyDeleteIt was in 2011 that a number of us ratepayers paid a visit to the Templeton Municipal Light meeting. I went because at that time I knew as a town, we were in trouble financially. To be honest, I never had a clue as to how bad things were, but I felt it was as good a time as any to ask these guys for some help. I am old enough to remember how things were, when a member of the Light Commission would stand up at the Annual Town Meeting, to proudly tell us how much money they returned to the town that year. Well, the meeting started, and the atmosphere was not the least bit welcoming. Mr. Spring asked about help for the elderly and handicapped. He was told that the board could not afford to do that ! When I asked about the pilot, Dana told me if the town was in trouble it was not their fault, and that "we do things right here".I found it unbelievable that the Commissioners, like Dana had been on this board so long, but did not know that some of the things we asked about, were available to us from EMWIC, the group Templeton belongs to !! Basically, these guys do not think the Light Company owes the people in this town anything at all, and I do not agree. I know allowing one person to be on any board or commission for too long a time is bad. It seems these people think this is their business, to do what the hell ever they want, but I have news for them. There are still enough people like me, who know the truth, so the party is just started. The town need to have a new set of eyes over at light and water, and a couple more after that. I strongly believe the town cannot survive with all the tax money coming from the backs of the homeowner. Bev.
DeleteThis is a Great program, I installed many heating systems last year under this program and in a few cases homeowners got close to 50% back for a new boiler install. Old oil fired Steam boilers, $1900. back, Hot Water systems, $1750. back, and new this year is a $750. rebate on a 12 year or older oil fired Warm Air Furnace. Rebates are higher for Gas and Higher efficiency units. If anyone in surrounding towns is interested in more information about this program, you can contact me at zboysheating@aol.com. Estimates are always Free. Rick
ReplyDeleteI am glad the word is out to some people. During a SPTM, I asked how many people were aware that these programs existed ? JUST ABOUT THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAD A CLUE WERE PEOPLE WHO WORKED FOR THE LIGHT AND WATER, so what is wrong with that picture?? Bart and I had a heat pump put in the house, and one in the camp. Dana was in charge of the work, so guess who lost out on about 1,000. He has been a commissioner since the Light Dept was hijacked from the town, and had no clue of what was offered to the residents and rate payers of TML. What is the most offensive is the way Mr. Driscoll behaves toward Mr. Spring. The law does say he must report to the selectmen, and Mr. Spring was nice enough to offer him what he needed to be consistent when bringing forth the budget for the new fiscal year. Of course Mr. Driscoll refused what Will offered him, so I guess we will have a problem with these guys, come town meeting time. I think is is very bad when all of the information a rate payer needed to know about these programs, was sitting on the counter at the Light Company. Why would I go there ?? I understand that the web site of the Light and Water now provides more information for the consumers in this town, and it is about time. The only reason any information is there at all is because of David and Will pushing to Driscoll to get it done. Bev.
