Today, as I drove past the Templeton Highway Department at 7:30 AM, I noticed only two private vehicles parked and all the bay doors shut. The place looked deserted, then I remembered the New England public works expo in Boxboro today and tomorrow. Perhaps the highway department enjoyed a paid day at the expo with free coffee and donuts and free lunch. The guys spending the day gather all the usual things like free pencils, pens, sticky note pads, hats, last year there were free safety t-shirts, one per person and of course little treats like candy and stuff. A very productive day indeed.
