  1. There is also a "Meet the Candidates Night" in the NRHS KIVA on Tuesday April 29th at 6:00pm.

This event is sponsored by the Narragansett Regional High School Social Studies Department and Student Government. Candidates running for office will engage in a question and answer session organized by students involved in student government.

Please come out to show your support for the candidates as well as the future leaders of our town!

  2. Perhaps selectmen candidates could answer who will be the next police chief of Templeton? Is the deal done to make Sgt. Bennett the next chief or will the selectmen post and interview people to try and bring the best person possible to be the next Templeton Police Chief

    1. Mr. Bennett, perhaps you could have finished your term as a Selectman to make sure this happened, as opposed to quitting because your opinions and ideas weren't popular.

      Just sayin.

    2. Takin back, you have no idea why I resigned. I also have the right to ask the question of our sitting selectmen, they of course do not have to answer it. But they will answer it soon by their actions. My thought is the deal is done and SGT. Bennett will be the next Templeton Police Chief. Maybe I will be surprised. Tonight is the last BOS meeting before the election, maybe the selectmen will be asked this question tonight. Lets see, I was not going to run for reelection anyways, so there is really no way I could have made sure anything happened. Pay attention to the vote or decision on the animal control agreement and the Ahisma lease tonight. Maybe it would be better if you would post with your real name, just sayin. Enjoy your day

    3. You're right, I don't know why you resigned. Nobody does. Residents of Templeton exercised their right to vote and some of them voted for you. You don't feel those same people have the right to know why you quit? Otherwise, those people wasted their vote on a quitter.

As Dave Smart would say...It is our business.

      Just sayin.

    4. I was not your business since I submitted my resignation. So please move on to something that really matters because I am not that important, fact is I am not important or relevant at all as a subject of discussion. FYI, a person stopped me in the grocery store and talked with me and asked about the budget shortage, we spoke about 15 minutes and no, the person never brought up my resignation. Whether that person voted for me or not, I do not know nor does it matter. What matters is they were interested in fiscal matters of the town and not interested in me. so stay focused on me if you wish, but I would focus on town meeting and your tax bill, as in tax override. That is your business, I am not.

    5. Hey Puff, your still an idiot, The hole was here, THAT is why Jeff Bennett got into the ring but because of idiots like you, People like Jeff Bennett cannot do what needs to be done without such arrogance from you and your cronies.
You are sounding more and more like Virginia every day

    6. You have trouble with facts as usual Huff, just like when you stated I was a selectmen when 2 million dollars of free cash was used and I proved you wrong as I was not a member of the select board when the FY2011 and FY2012 budgets were passed. To top that, 2 million was not even the dollar amount total during the period you wrote on. If you look, you will see I tried to get things moving towards reducing the total costs to the taxpayers for existing services but the rest of the board did not agree. as for the state taking notice, I am still wondering how Deb Wagner said the shortage was only $372,000.00 then other DOR members come in and it is back to $505,000.00. So explain how I helped dig this so called hole? All while you hide behind huff, if you really believe that hole thing, put your real name out there or are you embarrassed or afraid to? What are you hiding? what are you afraid of? You are pretty quick with the "too bad Mitchell showed up drunk or Bennett helped dig the hole", but you won't sign a real name to any of it. Ponder this, if that 1,9 million dollar loan had gone thru, there would be an additional $96,000.00 coming out of the town budget which would equal a larger budget deficit. Gee, who did not think that was a good idea?? So as I said, I am now a PFC and I am not your business.

    7. You were Chairman of the Board, the most powerful position in town. And the hole got deeper under your watch, not better. Simple as that.

    8. I just checked the Templeton street listing and no Huff n Puff listed, so that is that, a Huff does not exist. The most powerful person in town are the voters. A chairman of any board has 4 additional duties, put the agenda together, ensure it is proper and posted correctly, keep the meeting on topic and keep order during a meeting to include ordering a person to leave if they become disruptive. The board of selectmen vote as a whole on what articles appear on a warrant. Voters decide on what to spend, whether to raise their tax rate or not. Again, you are wrong on your information and that is that.

    10. Lets see, Huff n Puff says the chairman of the select board is the most powerful person in town. Now Huff n Puff says we will fix it. Huff, are you the chairman of the BOS? Oh wait, there is no Huff n Puff in town so huff is not going to do anything. I will watch the savings of the wood chip boiler solve it with all the savings. Oh wait, there is no savings cause the money that use to pay for oil will now pay a loan, buy wood chips and propane and maintain two systems rather than one. gee and there I was hoping the school assessment for Templeton would go down but it is going up again. To bad there will be no PILOT from Templeton Municipal Light Plant in FY2015 even after Sean Hamilton made the argument at a BOS meeting that the wind turbine was financed using MGL chapter 164, section 47C: c 164 covers manufacture of gas and electricity, section 47c is municipal lighting plant cooperatives. Within section 47c, it says in summary, no such municipal lighting plant cooperative shall be allowed to commence any such operations allowed pursuant to this section or exercise any such powers pursuant to subsection (d) until such payment in lieu of taxes is executed. interesting I think. If you want a fun break, try the circus

    11. They answer to the Board of Selectmen and the majority of the BOS did not seem interested in changing anything or even looking at it, plain and simple. Dept. heads do not answer to the chairman and that is the problem, you do not know what you are talking about so that's it. You want answers, post with your real name!

    12. how much free cash did Jeff Bennett spend? zero. yeah, real smart one town entity sue another, you sound like Gerald Skelton when he suggested going after the sewer commissioners so they would pay the $28,000.00 bill spent on Len Kopelman to get out of paying $3000.00 bill. can't wait for Templeton taxpayers to pay for a new elementary school then the district closes the Phillipston school and they get another free ride on the backs of Templeton taxpayers.

  5. 1. This blog is no longer controlled by Paul H. Cosentino SR. 2. When making a statement like you posted, if is not backed up by fact and or it is your opinion, you need to say it is your opinion every once in a while. A lawyer can verify that. 3. the administrator may be worried about repercussions, legal and otherwise.

    1. Thats understandable, My opinion is Bennett is not capable of running a police dept.

    2. Have you actually worked with him or are you going with the whole "get the speck out of your own eye before you try to pull the timber from you brother's" thing, or the ever popular "get your own house in order first" before you try to run a dept. 'Cuz neither of those have anything to do with one's ability to do the job effectively as evidenced by the current tyrant.

  6. So back to my original post, is the deal already done? Is Sgt. Bennett the next police chief in Templeton or will the position be posted and candidates interviewed as was done for the fire chief which it looks like that worked well for Templeton.

  7. At least the Sgt. is a town resident and pays taxes here. I do have 1 question though. Is he going to give people a hard time when they apply for their class A LTC large capacity concealed?
