Severe Weather Tonight (July 14)
·       Widespread showers and thunderstorms will sweep northeast across Southern New England tonight, centered around midnight.

·       Some of the storms may be strong to severe with the threat of damaging wind gusts.  Torrential rainfall is likely which may result in localized flash flooding.

·       A brief, isolated tornado is possible.

·       Showers and thunderstorms will exit the region by Tuesday morning.



Severe Weather Tuesday (July 15)
·       A brief period of quiet weather is possible prior to Tuesday afternoon when strong to severe thunderstorms building across the Hudson River Valley progress into New England.

·       The threat of torrential rainfall and localized flooding is once again likely.  There is higher confidence of damaging wind gusts with any severe storms.

·       In addition, there will also be the threat of tornadoes.

·       Highest confidence of impacts around and west of the Connecticut River valley.

Severe Weather Wednesday (July 16)
·       While a brief lull is possible once again around midnight Wednesday, storm activity is expected to renew all across New England towards early morning, centering around the morning commute.

·       The main threat is torrential rainfall along with localized flooding, but should any storms develop, damaging wind gusts are possible along with a brief tornado.

·       Storm activity will diminish towards Wednesday evening.

A total of 1.5 to 4 inches of rain is possible through Wednesday night, with the highest amounts forecast to fall in central and western Massachusetts.  The below graphic from the National Weather Service shows the probability of excessive rainfall through Tuesday and projected rainfall totals through Wednesday night for New England:
