Rumor has it

Rumor has it

Rumor has it the the funding for the Templeton Senior Center that has been added to the state's supplemental budget may be in jeopardy.

Partisan politics is in play.  All that it takes to sideline the funding for the Senior Center is one
"NO" vote by a Republican member of the House of Representatives.

Let's hope this unfortunate rumor is unfounded. All of the candidates have toured the new Senior Community Center off of Bridge St. All of the candidates seemed impressed with the progress made especially with the donations of land, time and materials.

It would truly be a shame to hold this project hostage to partisan politics.

  1. rumor has it that Massachusetts is a democratic state by a vast majority. How many members are in the Massachusetts state senate? How many are republican? Rumor has it this rumor thing is a ploy to get people to vote democrat which is nothing more than partisan politics.

  2. rumor has it there are 40 members of the Massachusetts state senate and rumor has it there are 4 republican members. Senator Stephen Brewer is chair of the senate ways and means committee. He wants Gobi to get his seat and he wants Andrews to win.

  3. Rumor has it that what you state is true as is the opposite- that one republican member of the House of Representatives can block the funding for the Senior Center. The Senate side is reportedly in favor of funding the project and will not block the supplemental budget.

    It is all partisan politics.

I wish the senior center funding was not being held hostage.

  4. Rumor has it there are 160 available seats in the Massachusetts house, of these there are 6 vacancies 125 democrats and 29 republican so if the speaker of the house wants the supplemental budget to pass, it will because of the deals made every day on Beacon Hill. It is election season and no one wants the seniors pissed at them.
