Parades. Carnivals. Fireworks. If you’re sticking around, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the Fourth in the region.

AUBURN
Independence Day Celebration: 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at Pappas Recreation Complex. Food, rides and music. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

BARRE
The Quabbin Community Band: 6 p.m., Sunday, July 1, at the bandstand on South Barre Common.

EAST BROOKFIELD
Independence Day Celebration: 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, July 7. Parade on Main Street starts at noon. Food rides and music at Connie Mack Field. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. INFO

FITCHBURG
Downtown block party and parade: The block party at Upper Main Street will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 3. Food, craft vendors and music. The annual fireworks display will be held about 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 3. Best viewing from Upper Common and Riverfront Park. The annual July Fourth parade will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, on Main Street. INFO

HARVARD
July Fourth Celebration: 5 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Fruitlands Museum. Music begins at 5:30 p.m., with fireworks at 9:15 p.m. On Wednesday, July 4, there will be events throughout the morning, including a 9 a.m. bike-decorating contest and an 11 a.m. parade. INFO

MILLBURY
Lions Club Carnival: Runs from 6 to 11 p.m. daily, Friday, June 29, to Wednesday, July 4. Fireworks from Windle Field, Canal Street, at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. INFO

PUTNAM
Concert and fireworks: 7:15 to 10:15 p.m., Sunday, July 1, at Rotary Park. Music by Juice Box beings at 7:15 p.m., with fireworks at 9:15 p.m.


RUTLAND
Rutland Fourth of July: Events run from Friday, June 29, to Wednesday, July 4. Bonfire at 1 p.m. Friday; Junior Olympics, road race, concert on Saturday; doll carriage and music on Sunday; chicken BBQ, Strawberry Festival, band concert and fireworks (9:20 p.m) on Tuesday; and pancake breakfast and parade on Wednesday. SHREWSBURY
Celebration at Dean Park: Noon to 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 1. Music and food, with bike and doll carriage parade at 12:30 p.m. INFO

STURBRIDGE
Old Sturbridge Village: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 4. The annual celebration features a giant copy of the Declaration of Independence, farm yard games and the firing of a reproduction cannon. INFO

TEMPLETON
Reading of Declaration of Independence: Noon, Wednesday, July 4, First Church of Templeton, 1 Wellington Road. This is the event’s 14th year. INFO

WEBSTER
Fourth of July celebration: Noon to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 30, Memorial Beach. Music by the Pulaski Brass Band and Sudden Urge. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

WOODSTOCK
Fourth of July Jamboree: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 4, East Woodstock Common. The annual event, first held in 1957 and run by the East Woodstock Congregational Church, features food, a parade and rides. INFO

WORCESTER
Independence Day Celebration: 4 to 10 p.m., Monday, July 2, Cristoforo Colombo Park (East Park), Shrewsbury Street. Music, food and children’s activities. The Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra takes the stage at 7:40 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. INFO

Fourth of July 1800′s Celebration at Salisbury Mansion: 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 40 Highland St. $5, free for those younger than 18. Horseshoes, historical hoops, crafts for kids, trivia for adults and more.
