Templeton's use of free cash

Templeton's use of free cash

The screenshot below gives an historical perspective on the use of Free Cash ( neither free nor cash) through the years:

It would appear that in 2005, Free Cash was not certified by the DOR.

  5. That would be publish.
On another note wouldn't it be nice to know who is posting comments?
Have a name to attach responsibility to what is commented?
I would think it would only be fair and also less hostile here.
Respect of others would grow and be more maturer treatment of the ones who care to post about Templeton issues and past history we need ro learn from.I can see a members only comment to keep people from using a fake name to cause harm to the person who is not realy the on doing the comment postings. In fairness to the readers also we should identify our posts and keep everyone on the blog identified and responsible for the words they have written.
My guess is the ones who realy care about Templeton will have no problem with this idea.
    Please comment!

  7. part 1 common since ,Firing of the treasure was a mistake. hiring him help would have been preferred , Seeing how someone had to start over , in training , people make mistakes . Taking Drafting a plan you have to have checkers who look at ever line& check it , its sometime easy to over look mistake in your own work , no point in being vindictive The hard facts , One thing is real , the town money problems will not be fix by a ban aid . or a over ride year after, year after, year ,
The town employees having there finger on pulse who continue to take advise to tax and spend show only parts and not the full script will not fix the problem , The town property holders should not bail this problem out
It is a continue problem which will accrue over and over so the solution is not a 2 1/2 over ride
what has to be realize is the truth services must be stop and controls , met by black ink
Our homes respectfully is our lives , Most people can not afford this on fix incomes , There homes are there lives foremost and is the American Dream . ,The dream is over ?? A tax over ride enforcing hardship on a problem administration which will take many over rides to fix just say KNOW ,
The DOR , called dead the line , forget that illogical thinking of DOR as a letter sent to them asking for extension of time is in reason and court would agree to that extension Templeton may not recover nor restoring services lets see ( A new Ambulance , A new school , A new pumping station ,a new chip boiler for school ,cost of plans for studies on such matters ,and a 1/2 million dollor loan just too keep things running bankruptcy sounds pretty good .....maybe all this dream wavering should be stop!!
Its waste of money end of story

    1. I would have agreed that firing the treasurer could have been a mistake, but not in this case. There was more than enough help, and it just did not work. Credit has to go to the ladies in the BOS Office for going the extra mile, plus and not bailing out, even though that must have looked like a good option at times. Two treasurers were put into office by the Echo Hill Gang, and I doubt it was to help the town. Isn't it interesting the mess Ms. Wilder wants to clean up was made by her people ?? You could not write a book like this, if you tried, you just get to the point you have to laugh !! Bev.

  8. part 2 The town must come to grip its responsibility to live in its means not by projection or loans or credit but with true balance books debts must be revealed in whole and way they are being paid . , Town departments and services like police / ambulance / DPU / town offices place in the collective must be measure before a vote .
The selectmen -women must come to sell the interest in light and water company and privatizes this. , The sale will being in millions to pay off debts / get Templeton back in the black ink , Templeton highway Department must be privatize and assess sold off ,..no new toys
a call 2 ambulance come running , I don't know why ? ,competition? EMTs want new ambulance .This must be forfeiture to town debts sorry
Posted retirements funds 200.000 must be explain , .Personal call it autopsied but a audit in plain language must be made public ,.. before any vote so the DOR , the dead line can not be held of march 31 ,and rush into a vote So send a letter to DOR now ,
Consider the school problem of heat . Many find wood shop move down south due to heat cost in 1975 Its time to move the school year to summer ( not winter) saving oil , wood cause pollution , the new R solar power / and geothermal heat are better solutions, no pollution and good investment .
The old ideas like tax and credit spending are like prohibition of marijuana must be removed form the thinking The town hall building could be sold to the Winchendon medical marijuana for used in non profit , if some one would only ask asked ? The L&W interest BY making it a private enterprise , , Consider all the laws that are now prevented due to the foolishness that we have a municipality benefiting ... who ? would correct it self , I see the town meeting problem is convict of interest as many who come to the town meeting are in fact employees , Privatization is best answer , contacting will keep cost controls ., is simple truth .
Taxation is means to destroy its only grows and grows as we have witness here .. what worry me is this campaign of taxing properties is intrusive and much like the Communist Manifesto /progressing higher and higher taxes , The Elected should put forth much thought in forfeiture of property , in such hard times worst things can happen to those people who lose there place to live , Better to play card in bankrupting the town.
The sovereign exclusive right to govern ourselves form the state is fact , Templeton has this Constitutional right to this authority to discorperate form the state of Massachusetts , This is happening nation wide and states like calif are seeing Towns and cities are claiming there right to succession ,
for self government , , and running within there means NOT by claiming state mandated controls by grants , or force regulation . which property owner are held ransom, This is an opportunity not a compromise re- claim control ,take it , after getting it you watch other town do the same .
am sorry i hit send and meant to save its hard to write in this little box " think out of the box

    1. Massvocals:
Selling the Baldwinville road property to the proposed medical grow facility in Winchendon will not work. The group behind the grow facility did not get a license. From the looks of it the old Mylac or Ray Plastics building is back up for sale in Winchendon. I don’t think we would be able to sell the DPW (as you call it). The town needs the hiway department and we would have to pay for their services if it could be sold. There are ways to save some money. As an example in the old days (1970’s) when I was working for the town parks and cemetery, we did not have a loader/backhoe. If one was needed they checked with the hiway to get an operator and machine. If one it was not available a local contractor was hired to do the work. Having to lease a unit for parks and Cem looks to be a waste of money (if we calculate how many times it was needed when I was there). Now that may not be the case today and they may in fact need it every day. But it would be worth asking the question or getting justification for the lease. If the light department was sold, whoever buys it would pay tax on the land/facilities. The money could pay off long term loans for instance. The question is will the potential tax collection be greater than the PILOT payment light and water is now paying? I think the light department is the sole owner of the telephone poles in town. Utilities (cable and telephone) who use the poles normally rent them monthly from the owners. I know when I ran fiber optics on Verizon poles there was a monthly rent for each pole. If you sell the Light Department would you also lose revenue from the other utilities? I am not sure if the town even rents out the poles or collects anything however; further investigation needs to be done before holding any sale. In any case the way money is and has been spent in this town any potential profit from the sale would quickly vanish. We should look at every line item to see what is really needed and what can be trimmed or eliminated. People in this town justify any project because we will only have to pay X and the state will pay Y. They over look the fact that we still have to Pay the X. If we scrap the project we won’t get the state reimbursement Y but we did not spend X. Spending money is not getting us anywhere at this time. We need to get a handle on what we really need and dig out of the finical hole we find the town in. Then perhaps we can invest in new projects that we can afford. You do bring up valid points like the $200,000 question. By the way what about the $500,000 the school had to investigate the elementary school? They are asking for more money to finish that project as it looks like they spent over $250,000 looking for land. Who’s watching that show and buying into that issue? Hey if the town spends X more then the state will pay Y to complete that job.

    3. Yes I am from a family that has been here in town for many generations. I still have the same bedroom I had as a kid growing up here in town. I went away to serve our country for a couple of decades 6 years in the military and about 20 more years working for the government. I came back when the economy went bad and business dropped off as the cold war ended. I made a good living working for local towns, police, fire, schools (public and private). I have worked on projects for state police, the TSA, Massport, MBTA, social security administration hospitals and medical clinics to name a few. I have designed data and security networks for campuses, medical facilities and town wide networks. I have been around and consulted with local and city officials as well as individual municipal departments. Every government entity works a little bit different some are successful and some are not as successful. Some just plain stink at supporting the people they serve. The problem stems from far to many people complaining and not enough of them doing. The loudest complainers won't even show up to vote. If they don't like what is happening they have the power to change it by voicing their opinion at the polls or at Town meeting. They need to take up a paint brush and help paint a school or even a classroom. They need to use their talents to do what they can to help our town out. We all need to hold our leaders responsible for properly maintaining the towns properties as they belong to all of us. Overlooking needed work is not acceptable. But the situation is now critical and it is getting to the point where drastic measures will be needed. I will give you an example. The town I lived in was having problems with technology. At the time I was running my own company. I worked evenings getting computer labs operational at the high school. I built new servers for the library. I brought in my crew and got a lot of volunteers to wire the elementary school. I taught the teachers and administrators how to do the work. Together we completely wired the school, got computer labs operational and I connected the school to the internet. I also continued work at the high school and middle schools. Not many people showed up to help, but I got every school connected to the internet and all schools had computer labs and computers in a lot of the classrooms with the potential to have computers in every classroom as new computers could be procured. That was a long Summer/Fall. And that was about 17 years ago. Point is some people sit and complain others identify a problem and take action. I worked with a lot of other schools/towns but not to the degree that I had worked in my town. I am getting far to old to do these things now. Some people can and will make a difference in the world. I do not see many people working together here in town. I have lots of ideas but no one is listening.

  9. to jim , Respectfully your not correct as medical marijuana dispensary is still pending a license There is corruption in the DPH awarding of the 20 license yet 15 more pending same implication of the founding reasons of the by law title " LV marijuana THC on property in Templeton " by law should be repeal , for many reason . One point you fail to point out is it does not have to be that one non profit could be any of the 20 or yet 15 more , the point was revenue !!!!
The Idea that DOR has a dead line is nothing to worry about , that what courts are for , lawyers in waiting file for expedition in time that all or get out of system
I take no prisoner not shelter for any ...only the property owners should be protected , its not the town people fault The town is responsible those heads and there every drop of blood should come first , I reckon it to the foolish bankers plot to big to fail or jail . so big brother government bail them out , At so called tax expense soon to come your see buy this and that and so on ....no one really has balls to really cut out or go bankrupt let the court reconstruct ?? which would stop DOR If your going to hurt some one , take money form those in employment not to be vindictive but reason suit this The town assess should first be consume not the people , it should be form the town sources we cut respectfully , I will vote no to any over ride of 2 1/2 as i voted NO NO NO NO in past I can survive no services , no police , no EMT s, a voluntary fire department ect ect ect .... , we will shrive am betting ....
