Paving work done on Crotty and Boynton

There was paving work done on Crotty Ave and Boynton Road on Saturday 10/24/15.
Please use caution in these areas as the speed limits have not
Changed.  Crotty Ave. and Boynton may look like highways now but are still slow traffic areas.
Still other work is going to continue and please use caution to allow the finish work to be completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Any questions concerning the construction projects , please call the
Highway department @ 978-939-8666

Thank you for your patience ,

  2. Hey Mike we did the correct thing on crotty and boynton. Full depth reclaim and regraded on Crotty, calcium.
Boynton dug 2-3feet removed and large rocks removed and processed replaced. I have yet to see Crotty but Boynton looks great and has never been better. I think top coat for Boynton monday. As it says above Call Highway department with and questions concerning the construction projects and all you questions can be answered in a timely manner.
It would be a strech for anyone to say the work we did could be done with a backhoe.

  3. How wonderful, we now have two good roads in town. One that goes no where, Boynton and then Crotty. Oh yes, I forgot the road that no one lives on, the road to the Otter River Sportsman's Club. Just had to be done, while Hubbardston Road and Partridegville Road will tear up your springs and shocks. Avoid these roads if you can, but if you live on them, contact our newest selectman. She promised to get your road fixed, at least she got her's done. For the record, I am not upset with the highway guys. They only do what our Selectmen tell them to do. It's your money, so if you are not happy with how things are going, speak up.

  4. Thousands use the club road year in and year out. We plow this town owned roads year in and year out. The fact we have to pound our equipment over it year after year should be reason enough to pave it. The town was asked for extra money to do extra work on roads, new machines to do the work with. They said no to a tax increase for this reason. Why be surprised when the people who choose the roads to fix are not picking the roads the people who blog here want.
There are many new roads in Templeton and will be more in the years to come. My guess is the ones needing to be redone will keep pace with those that get done. We could be like the town of princeton and vote to an extra 300k for road repairs every year but we don't so we can't repair the roads as quickly as we want or need.
Sorry Bev thats just the way it is.People like Mike above are quick to look for a reson to be critical and have a lack of trust in what the highway can or will do!!!
Sorry we didn't get to south and hubbardston roads yet. They are a much larger and expensive project for the town to pay for now.
I would guess maybe next year some work will be done on them? Ask a selectman or two they would be the ones to get the real answers from .
