My Name is Paul H Cosentino. I started this Blog in 2011 because of what I believe to be wrongdoings in town government. This Blog is to keep the citizens of Templeton informed. It is also for the citizens of Templeton to post their comments and concerns.
Scout Hall Use Committee? What could this be about? Possibly moving Scout Hall? Why? Is it the town's business to be in real estate?
Crow Hill Motorcross license renewal... It may be loud but it is not a large dump on top of our town's water supply!
A Special Town Meeting? Didn't we just have one of those not too long ago? Why not wait until the May Annual Town Meeting. - it's just around the corner.
Oh! For a Water Department project! So the water department is under a consent order from the DEP to paint or repair or replace the water tower on Johnson Ave. When was this consent order received by the water department? Why does this need town meeting approval? Town meeting doesn't have to approve the water department budget? This makes no sense! How much will this project increase Templeton water user rates - already the highest in the state?
Wow! "ACTION" on Town Administrator position! Interesting possibilities. I wonder what a new round of applicants will look like.
Budget discussion for FY 17. hmm any word on free cash? How are the budget to actuals looking for this fiscal year. How much more money and time will be spent before the audits take place. Might be time to ask the state for help. Maybe the Inspector General?
If you look at the Water improvement Plan, you will see that it was dated 2013. The report said the South Road tank was constructed in 1950, cleaned and inspected in 2012. The report said the tank is structurally sound, but needs exterior coating on the roof dome, and exterior spot coating on the walls. The Latter Hill tank was constructed in 1957. It was also cleaned and inspected on November 2012. This tank needs interior and exterior coating. It also needs foundation crack repair, at least that was recommended.
It seems the Water Department did not get this report yesterday, so why the big hurry now ?? Every Special Town Meeting costs us money...If we do have one, are we going to fill the empty seats for Selectman and School Committee ?? I never have seen a time when a elected official did not do their job, at least with out a dam good reason. Jeff Bennett got sent to the sand box, by the National Guard. That is the only time. Even Scrappy showed up, you have to give him credit for that.
