SAD DAY FOR TEMPLETON

SAD DAY FOR TEMPLETON
It appears the current Board of Selectmen, when faced with an astounding budget shortfall of $600,000, will take the most logical and sensible approach to handling this monetary fiasco and fire the new Town Coordinator – who has the skills necessary to handle this financial crisis.
Are you confused ? Are you angry? Please attend the BOS meeting scheduled for Monday March 12th in the Middle School cafeteria for 7:30 pm. This is YOUR town!

The Town Coordinator Contract was negotiated in good faith and in public session. Read section 5 Dismissal and Severance of this contract.  How will dismissing the current town coordinator and paying him over $32,000 in severance pay benefit the TOWN? Unless the current BOS intend to breach this contract as well?

  1. I would request that the Selectmen voting in favor of terminating Mr. Ritter give up their stipends to help pay for this travesty. Mr. Ritter has proven to be intelligent, articulate, and transparent; which of these qualities do the majority on the BOS find objectionable? I recently served on a hiring committee, and we looked for candidates with the most education, experience, and favorable job performance reviews. It would seem that the current Board prefers candidates with less education, and questionable job performance reviews. Mrs. Skelton has had the better part of a decade to prove her worth as an employee of the town. With a questionable record, at best, why, in these dire circumstances, would we want to rely on her to restore the town’s finances? In my opinion, reinstating Mrs. Skelton is an act of political sabotage. Knowingly terminating a valuable employee for a less competent employee is a clear indication that the new majority does not have the true best interests of the town in mind.

  2. Looks like we are almost all the way back to self interest and incompetency.
