The Board of Health meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 5:00 PM in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room at

the Henry Woods Building. Meetings are posted on www.mytowngovernment.org


The Board consist of three members whom are elected with three year terms Chairman Dana Mascroft,

Dr. Samuel Pickens and Margaret Frost. The Board of Health is responsible for the Alternate Health Agent

Philip Leger, Administrative Assistant Andrea Mastrototoro, Landfill Monitor Gary Clark and Transfer

Station Monitor Walter Fielding.

The Health Department responded to complaints concerning issues such as housing complaints, trash,

odors, septic issues, noise and outdoor wood burning furnaces.

Dr. Samuel Pickens is an active member of Quabbin Emergency Health Coalition (QREHC with Towns

consisting of Barre, Oakham, Hardwick, and New Braintree), and the Landfill Study Committee.

Unfortunately for the Board of Health Anthony Kukas retired October 29, 2013 from his positions as

Animal Control Officer/Inspector of Animals and Assistant Transfer Station Monitor. We would like to take

this opportunity to thank him for his many years of loyal service with this department.

The Board of Health would also like to thank Faye Zukowski for her dedicated years of service with the

department. Fay still remains with the Town as the Assistant to the Town Administrator.
Inspections


The Health Agent for the Board of Health conducted the following inspections:

Food Establishment: 52 Milk and Cream Permits: 12

Camp Permits: 1 Lot Tests: 15

School Inspections: 3 Pool Permit: 2

But not limited to the necessary permitting inspections. Also includes Title V, Coldbrook Campground,

Stetson School, Insight Meditation, Waterwheel Village and the Barre Martone Landfill.

Septic Installers License: 11 Trash Haulers: 2

Septage Haulers: 2 Beaver Permits: 5

Well Permits: 4 Campground Permits: 1

Day Camp: 1 Lot Testing: 15

Tobacco: 8 Pool Permits: 2
