Financial Transfers ...Why transfer $33,000 to Town Accountant Expenses?

Financial Transfers ...Why transfer $33,000 to Town Accountant Expenses?

So why is the transfer of $33,000 to Town Accountant necessary ?

There is one hell of a lotta work to be done BEFORE the audits of FY 13, FY 14 and FY15 can take place.

NO AUDITS = NO BOND RATING = NO FREE CASH

SO WHAT WILL THE INTEREST RATE BE FOR A 30 YEAR LOAN FOR A NEW SCHOOL?

WHAT LENDING INSTITUTION WILL LOAN MONEY TO A COMMUNITY THAT DOES NOT HAVE A BOND RATING?

  1. From what we were told at the meeting by Administrator Markel it will be used to hire extra help to finish the rebuilding of the towns books. You know like the money we spent on a pair of accountants in the past to do the same thing for us that brought us to this point.
The state had contacted Markel and said the free cash was in jeopardy if the book were not finished in a timely manner.
We were told not 1 year has been comlpeted only half of the 2015 books. Only the expense side of the 2015 books have been reported to Markel as completed. No questions were asked at the meeting about this issue. Kind of odd the most important thing in town had NO questions. WHY no questions. How much have we spent on rebuilding the previous years books and how much more will it take? Will we lose the free cash if the books are not audited in the time frame?
Why would the time frame run out? Markel said he would share the letter from the DOR director with anyone.
I think it's time some letters go to the DOR director.
The Advisory board member tried to fill us in on the bond rate and the way a loan would be given an amount on the intrest.
The town wants a school and thats it. Interest rates bond rates mean nothing to them. They didn't want to hear it or about it. Mr. Spring spent a large amount of time on the research on the most important thing at the meeting and we as a town just blew him off. I think the best thing he could do for the town was done. It's the town or the people who stacked the meeting who are to blame for the lack of knowledge now. Like so many times in the past the people who do the hard work and fact finding fall on deaf ears and narrow vision. Most of the people who they try to reach and get the understanding they need to have just don't want too. Time will tell if the people in town care about the financial status of the town or not.
If they don't or can't is the real question to be asked. The willingness to not listen to what we are told is not a reason in the future to say we didn't know about this or that.
I want to let Mr. Spring know his voice was most important. Any if not all of the people were repeating the same things as the people we paid 100s of thousands said in the beginning. It was nice for the supporters to get the recognition they needed in the paper to further their cause. I'll bet if we sign our home mortgages with a blank amount in the interest block we would ask questions. Or would they? They just wanted a house no matter the cost.
