My Name is Paul H Cosentino. I started this Blog in 2011 because of what I believe to be wrongdoings in town government. This Blog is to keep the citizens of Templeton informed. It is also for the citizens of Templeton to post their comments and concerns.
Someone better update the procedures for submitting meeting announcements and agendas. This is what it says on the website:
Policy for Posting Public Meetings and Agendas
All public meetings must be posted using the following guidelines: 1. Confirm that meeting space is available with the appropriate location coordinator. 2. Email your Meeting Agenda as an attachment to the following email addresses: charris@templeton1.org ddennis@templeton1.org templetonmass@gmail.com NOTE: Agenda must include Meeting Name, Date, Time and Location (including street address). Multiple meetings must be on seperate documents for posting purposes. 3. Meetings must be posted a minimum of 48 hours in advance (not including weekends or holidays) so please plan accordingly.
If the departments and committees are to be held to following a standard process, then the process should be made clear and is kept up to date.
The L&W Dept is not s separate entity to the town. The school is not a separate entity to the town. If a public meeting is to be held in town discussing town business, then it needs to be posted where the information is best accessible to the citizens. These days, its on the website, not in a box or on a bulletin board at a town building. Lets cut the crap and follow our own rules as well as the state's rules on public meetings.
And while we're at it, how about updating the list of board members, committee members, and dept heads on each of the committee/dept web pages. Its pretty sad that Jeff Bennett, who is serving our country on the other side of the world, answers questions on who is on the TESBC. Don't you think maybe someone here could do that and Jeff can focus on more important issues? (Thank you, Jeff for the info by the way) Let's take care of some of this basic housekeeping so more attention can be focused on the serious issues here. I don't even know what over half of the boards/committees do, who needs more members, and who is currently sitting on said boards/committees. How about a sentence on what each is responsible for? Maybe there would be more participation from the citizens if they knew all of this info.
There would also be less bad information, out there in the community. I was told the school building comm, is meeting today at 4:30. What is that! What about a person who works until 5:00 and does not get home until 6:00. Oh shades of our old friend GS. with his 8:30am meetings. Bev.
Bev Just thought you should know that the new build committee met for the first time today . the first thing I did was to make sure all the meeting in the future are held no earlier than 6 pm. from now on .
We need the new laywers to look at the l+w to see what the setup that their in is exactly! maybe then we will know who is in control of them/us? It should be a eye opener for everyone that cares about what shape our town is in. If Mr. ritter can get them to check it would be a great thing for us that want to get things better for our town and all town departments. We should know the facts and the proper pilot amounts due! a shareholder just like you!
One correction selectmen's email either kmyers@templeton1.org or selectman@templeton1.org not the ddennis one. Also why is everything such a secret, it took me forever to find the info on the school committee meeting after bouncing around the NRSD website. Mr. Driscoll states that a website for the L&W would be expensive but he overlooks the fact that there is the town website with a acual page for the L&W. What say Dana and Chris and Greg?????
