Seeing the light…

Excitement! Headline in today’s Gardner News :” Light plant set to offer new rebates” . Great news, right? It is good news, if you live in Ashburnham.  Electric customers of TMLWP will see a $1.00 reduction in the  $4.00 “service charge”. Look what Ashburnham electric customers receive.

Ashburnham Municipal Light Plant also has a website. This website includes a link for On-line Electric Bill Pay. Can it be true? There are links to meeting agendas as well as minutes. Somehow it is possible to have a municipal light department that looks out for the customers/ratepayers/shareholders interests.  What a concept! Hope it catches on.

My opinions…supported by FACTS ! ! !

  1. Sooner or later the guys at the "Templeton Municipal Light" will get the message. It is a matter of time before the people in this town get angry enough about the way the Light Commissioners have chosen to treat the town. Stop doing us these big favors, giving the highway your second hand equipment, so you can count it as a big chunk of change, toward the PILOT, that you should be paying the town. Sit down with the Selectman and write up a real agreement, so you can plan on what you need to pay, and the town will be able to count on what you owe. This is how other towns do it! What the hell makes you all so special? When the people in this town think of the Templeton Municipal Light, it is usually in a good way. That is what they thought, of the way it was run when Mr.Dymbek and Mr. Kwasney were alive. I am sorry to say they both would be fit to be tied if they saw how things were done now. It is up to the Light Commissioners to smarten up. The share holders of this town will not back you guys when they start to understand how self centered you are now. I am sure the Light Co. was not put in place to take care of you, at the expense of the town. This is my opinion. I am very sorry that we did not film our earlier meetings with the Light and Water Commissioners. That would really have told the people of the town the true story. Bev.
