No bail in acid threat case

Boulanger Damien Fisher News Staff Writer TEMPLETON - A Baldwinville man who allegedly threatened to burn a woman with battery acid and stole her car is being held without bail after he was found to be too dangerous to be released. Peter P. Boulanger, 41, is charged with assault and battery on a family or household member, and larceny of a motor vehicle for the May 23 incident. He was ordered held in jail pending trial at a dangerousness hearing on Wednesday held in the Win­chendon District Court, located in Gardner. Boulanger’s criminal history of more than 100 charges and convictions, including numerous convictions on violent assaults, led Judge Arthur Haley to impose the dangerous rule. “He has perhaps the worst record I have seen in years,” Haley said during Wednesday’s hearing. Boulanger reportedly stole his girlfriend’s car on May 23, telling the woman not to call police. The woman called police anyway, and appeared nervous and scared when speaking to an officer, according to the police report. Finally, crying, she told the officer about the abuse she had been suffering from Boulanger, according to the report. “He said if I called the police he would pour battery acid on (my) face,” the woman told police. The woman initially did not want to file a stolen car report because she feared retaliation from Boulanger, police stated. She eventually went back to police on May 25 to make the report. During that interview, the woman told police that she had been with Boulanger for about three months, and suffered physical or verbal abuse just about every day of their relationship, police report. Boulanger will continue to be held at the Worcester County House of Correction in West Boylston.
