My Name is Paul H Cosentino. I started this Blog in 2011 because of what I believe to be wrongdoings in town government. This Blog is to keep the citizens of Templeton informed. It is also for the citizens of Templeton to post their comments and concerns.
So we do not know how big the hole is we are in, and will not know until the audits are done, so what happens if this major upheaval is not enough ? I do believe we have a "structural deficit" that may be over and above what we owe on top of the dent that we are trying to fix by rearranging and disrupting the lives of our Town Workers. For the past sixteen years the town has only been able to go for three years with out scraping the bottom of the barrel. Lets get one thing straight !! The "missing money" was never missing at all. The idea that any of the people trying to fix the budget were responsible for the shortfall is laughable, seeing they used figures given to them by the prior accountant. It does seem that there are people who would like that suspicion hang out there, as it takes everyone's' eyes off the people who more than likely responsible for playing a shell game for many years. Come to think about it, I just came to the conclusion that "we" were probably set up to fail, to discredit us, along with the fact the investigation the people in this town voted to ask for, never happened. I guess expecting other people to be honest is a major failure of mine. Bev.
It would seem to me we would need a Town Meeting vote to rearrange all of our Town Departments. I would rather limit the time the Town Hall is open until we know what we need to fix the mess we are in. Throwing a ton of money at a problem does not solve it. It just makes the problem bigger.
