Shedding some Light…on citizen petitions

Invoice for legal services rendered and expenses incurred for the month of March, 2013 for the Opinion – Town Board of Selectmen Power re: Light Commission matter.

Best entry on a legal invoice EVER:

03/07/13 Call Social Law Library to renew book that Attorney Moore has checked out and get overdue fee waived.            0.20 hours

At $270/hour   .20 hours = $54 dollars.

They could have purchased a copy of Town Meeting Times for that price. How much was the overdue fee?

What the hell is going on over at Light and Water?

This latest invoice for $7,139.20 is in addition to the prior invoices:

Ferriter & Scobbo  March 8, 2013  Invoice amount $9,982.25

At least there is an opinion from Rubin & Rudman on PILOT payments. So why hire Ferriter and Scobbo to do more expensive legal research on the same topic – citizen petitions? Still no opinion from Ferriter and Scobbo.

All of this legal research because I filed three citizen petitions:

Article 52 – regarding formalizing the PILOT payment
Article 53 – requesting a forensic audit of the wind turbine

Article 57 – requesting a report on the water system in the Town of Templeton.

Why expend this amount of money (over $20,000 and counting) for legal research on articles that have yet to be discussed at town meeting? In the words of one former light and water manager: ”She’s just a stupid librarian!”

Please attend town meeting on May 14th. Please pay attention to all of your elected officials actions and votes.

My opinions…supported by FACTS ! ! !

    1. Ok, we got it! Enough about Virginia, time will take care of her. The Light and Water Department do not care what they spend. They will just forward any added expense to you the rate payer. When is ENOUGH, ENOUGH?? Wait until the water customers get their next bill!! Oh, Maybe you, who were fooled into backing the Water and Light Commissioners, will see the real light. I can not understand why it is alright for these guys, to spend your money, with out any thought of right or wrong. As long as their needs are met, and you pay the bills, nothing will change. My opinion, Bev.

    2. For Mr. John Driscoll and the Commissioners. Keep spending ratepayer's money just to get the kind of answer you want, and all you will come up with is bigger bills. Do you really think you can keep charging these payments to the ratepayers, without it blowing up in your face? Sorry boys, It is what it is, no matter how you want to twist it. You guys had better suck it up, and work with the selectmen. If you guys had treated the citizens, a whole lot better, when we came to ask for some support, for the town, you would have come out of these meetings a whole lot better! I do suspect you have found, much to your dismay, the selectmen have a lot more say over what Mr. Driscoll does, than you thought! My opinion, Bev.
