  1. It was not to long ago when the Otter River ran yellow because of the paper pulp in the river from the Otter River paper mill. The mill was making telephone books for Mexico. I remember my ex husband coming home mad, because I was on the Board of Health that was making them clean up the river. It seems the guys he worked with were giving him a hard time, because we were going to cost the mill money. Bob Columbus was one of them. At one point young George Jones was dumping the sludge behind the mill. What a mess !! I went to talk with his father, and I was afraid the poor man was going to have a heart attack. All these issues were resolved, to give us the beautiful river we have today. I am so glad there are people who have a interest in keeping things clean, for us and the animals who use the river to live. I saw a young guy with a good size trout he had caught in the river behind the pizza place in Baldwinville a few weeks ago. I hope everyone has a good day. Bev.

    1. By the way, trout need clean cold water, to survive. They would never have made it living in the pulp filled water, that existed years ago. The fact that they are doing well, is a sign the water is good. Bev.
