Water Policy/Water Police

Water Policy/Water Police

There have been a few posts lately that are not directly related to Templeton politics, but indicate a disturbing trend that may impact Templeton in the not too distant future.

Business perspective on SWMI – increased water rates and more regulation on aquifers.

Detroit and Iraq blog This blog post describes the condition of the city of Detroit. Water has been shut off to the city. “Desperate Detroiters represented by the Blue Planet Project, the Michigan Welfare Rights Organization, Food & Water Watch and the Detroit People’s Water Board, have made their case to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Right to Safe Drinking Water. They issued a report which outlines the latest scheme to destroy Detroit as a city and as a home to poor and working people. The plan will ultimately privatize the water system and make Detroit another location for prime real estate and riches for the few.”

Climate Change blogYou’ve heard it before  “global warming”, “climate change” Those liberal, pinko ,commies just won’t give it up. If the 1% issues a report on climate change, would you read it? Guess what? They did! It’s called “Risky Business”. (must be Tom Cruise fans) It’s 52 pages in length and written in plain English. One projection forecasts an increase in sea level and in temperature. Maybe Templeton will be an ocean front community. We can’t start planning soon enough for a Harbor Master.

Pitchforks for the 1% - $15.00 hour minimum wage? This guy is nuts. Maybe.

So what does all this mean for Templeton? Templeton has many clubs. Most of these clubs are located on top of very large aquifers. We need to protect our water rights. We could end up like Detroit, petitioning the UN for our right to our water supply.

Just something to think about.

  2. There are a lot of sharks in the water when it comes to this important resource. Ch93 Acts of 2000 should be repealed as oversight by town residents is lacking, Not voting on the water budget at annual town meeting seems to be going in the wrong direction. My hearing may have been off but it sure sounded like one of the Commissioners was going to refuse to follow town meeting vote in regards to decisions on fluoridation due to Ch 93 Acts of 2000 should the votes have been in the affirmative. Fluoride is an enzymatic poison and drug that many people feel should not be given via the water supply. There is no doctor overseeing the administration of this drug so dose and the patient are unknown.
