I believe the $801 figure does NOT include the service of $28 per quarter or the "temporary" increase to $56 per quarter.
ReplyDeletePlease keep in mind the increase in the service fee back in 2009 from $12 per quarter to $28 per quarter was "temporary as well. THAT increase came about because of a lack of revenue to pay the bonds. Guess what? Those bond payments have decreased each succeeding year since 2009. When the "crisis" or lack of funding for the bond payment was over, where did they put the money from the increase.
Seems like there is never ENOUGH for these guys.
Oh! Let's recalculate the figure to INCLUDE the increase in service fee.
ReplyDelete$56.00/ quarter = $224/ year + $801 = $1025....
Yup! We're #1! We're #1!
It's funny you thought of that.It never crossed my mind how much more we have been taken to the cleaners and the amount they have in store for us is no laughing matter. The department is is power grab mode and won't stop any time soon. The lawyer they use is all about preserving what has been created for them.As the dictionary says #2 To maintain intact or unchanged. The lawyer is in this for his own benifit and to fatten his wallet for him. I may add from you and I. The rates from this department are to damn high prior to any increases and we need to let them know,TONIGHT!6 PM Bridge street conference room!
ReplyDeleteWe should not be #1. That can be changed with your help.
Please come to the meeting and stand up to be counted not abused like we are now.
No one can say, no one told me!! The fees that the Water Department charges you, are not regulated by law, so they can get away with charging you anything they want. The good old boys found a way to pad their pay. Don't you think this may be the reason, our friend, John Driscoll did not want to give Mr. Spring a detailed budget!! The cost of water and electricity, will be even higher, when the lawyer they have gets through pushing the Commissioners, to go to war with the town. Lets hope they have more brains than that. Time will tell, My opinion, Bev.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Ch93 Acts of 2000 was a scam to make some peoples lives much happier. Perhaps we should look at placing the water department back under the BOS.
