Bringing back a Skelton...........

Selectmens Meeting - Thursday, April 12, 6:00PM NMS Cafeteria.  Please be there - Which Skelton will they put in as Town Coordinator - rumor has it it could be Jerry or Carol. So who do we pick the one with the current lawsuit (they both have previously sued the town) or Jerry - the biggest bullier of town employees! Well this shows it, the LTPS group and the majority of the Board of Selectmen do not care about the People of Templeton - they only care about the Skelton agenda  payback - payback and drive the town into bankruptcy! Please try to attend the meeting.

  1. Prudent action would mean they would have a plan for an interim coordinator while they go through the formal job search procedure but of course the majority of the board is not prudent. They could not have a potential candidate unless they have been meeting in secret (which we know they have). With JS or CS you get a package deal because one can not work without the other. Double the damage for half of the price....Just my opinion....

  3. If I understand correctly, if a government official has a personal relationship with a job applicant, they are to abstain from voting on the appointment. If this is the law, then Mr. Columbus and Ms. Wilder must abstain from voting on the appointment of EITHER Mr. or Mrs. Skelton. Ms. Wilder has stated in writing that Ms. Skelton is a very dear friend of hers. It is public knowledge that the Skeltons and Columbuses are also close friends. It is not ethical for either one of them to vote on employment issues if the applicant has a personal relationship with them. I do not know if Mr. Mullins or Mr. Stewart have personal relationships with the Skeltons. I can pretty much assume that Mr. Bennett is not personal friends with the Skeltons, so he can vote on their appointment.

Also, I believe that there is another highly qualified person in town that had applied for the Coordinator position when it was opened for applicants. He has also proven to be highly intelligent at previous BOS meetings, liked by all, is respectful, is well versed in the town's financial matters as well as the rules and regulations concerning running the town's business. Is Mr. Keeney also being considered for the Temp Coordinator position? In my opinion, he would be the best choice during this volatile political struggle. He's also attended most of the BOS meetings in the past 3 months and has heard the discussions that have occurred. I do not recall seeing either Mr. or Mrs. Skelton at any meetings. I could be wrong. Please correct me if I am.

I am not an attorney and may not be reading the conflict of interest law correctly. So, this is my opinion only. If the current BOS is concerned at all about being 100% objective or at least appearing that way, they should not vote on appointments of friends and should appoint someone who is more qualified and appealing to the majority of the town.

    1. I would say that if one is seen having breakfast at the Turtle on several occasions (daily) with one Jerry S then it would appear one (Mr Mullins) is a personal friend of Mr Skelton and since one is unemployed - does Jerry pay - Has Mr Mullins taken the ethics test??

  4. Jeff Ritter while technically on the payroll until close of business Friday, April, 13, 2012, I witnessed him turning his keys over to Kate Meyers. For all purposes, Jeff Ritter is gone and Templeton is now in the capable hands of boob columbus, god bless us, everyone (Tiny Tim) Just so you know, the three amigos signed the settlement/claim of the dismissal of Jeff Ritter, columbus, wilder and mullins. who was heard to say of Mr. Ritters contract for one year, just scrap it!! Reminds me of how we came to own 252 baldwinville road, columbus and two other cohorts signing a form, as in an e-mail. Remember Ritter come May 7, 2012. Vote Farrell forthwith!!!!

  5. Mrs. Skelton while serving as Town Coordinator was very adamant about the liability involved for the town when a volunteer attempted to offer services. Should the Board of Selectmen consider a volunteer for the Interim Town Coordinator, please be reminded that as Town Coordinator they would have unlimited access to confidential information as well as ALL PERSONNEL (be reminded the Town Coordinator is also the Personnel Administrator). I could not fathom the issues and ethics problems this situation could pose. I would defer to the Assessors office on this but even under the Senior Tax Workoff program being considered, those individuals are typically not assigned work involving confidential and personnel files due to the potential liabilities involved. I just wanted to point out this issue.

    1. It is my opinion that team Skelton belong in prison for interfering in the WWTP contract between Erving Paper Mills and the Town of Templeton. I have sent the documentation on to Pauly showing Erving being a party to the contract via Special Town Meeting in January of 1974 and the fact sheet from the 2003 Federal Appeal also showing Erving being a party to the WWTP contract. It is alleged that Team Skelton and Bob Columbus interfered in the rightful prosecution of the Sewer Commissioners lawsuit. Judge Fox's decision showed that up until the settlement was signed with Erving Paper Mills the Sewer Commissioners were the rightful board to prosecute this was further confirmed by Federal Judges Gorton and Swartwood. The present Board of Selectmen would be doing a disservice to Templeton residents bringing back these alleged criminals. Its time to back honest people for political office not those that are in politics for self-interest.

    2. Brilliant!!! You are so so correct. I would say if JS is considering doing this (as a "FAVOR TO THE TOWN????"), he and K&P should be looking at the liability on his shoulders. But then, K&P would make money defending the town or him, so.......will we be sucked in again?

    3. BT - you wrote, "It is alleged that Team Skelton and Bob Columbus interfered in the rightful prosecution of the Sewer Commissioners lawsuit." Can you please fill me in on exactly how they interfered with the Sewer Commissioners lawsuit? I still do not understand exactly what they did that could be considered illegal? I really would love to know that there was something out there that they could be prosecuted over and that would also rid the town of K&P

  6. Big conflict of interest bringing in jerry skelton, remember his wife has a suit against the town. as an interim coordinator he would have access to all communication coming into town hall, including legal issues. Not a very smart, ethical, or appropriate move. We need to look at the personnel policy and see if that was ever actually voted on by the select board, that wholle policy could be really really worthless. so wilder, what has the government study committee come up with on their quest? The place to hit back is the budget, word is Kirk Moschetti & co. do not plan on funding the town planner position. seems like ms. fleck does not come into work ontime and leaves very early. kind of like the building inspector heading to hubbardston by 9 a.m. So lets say goodbye to affordable housing coordinator and con com agent, the people simply amend the article and remove any funding for these positions........unless the select board does it first, as in non essential positions. Remember, no skelton in any office while they have a suit in place and also remember the gardner news article about jerry skelton signing off on pay increases for his wife, looks like that DOR report was pretty accurate!!!!!! Fire columbus and recall mullins and wilder forthwith
