Ho-Ho-Ho

Have you got the Christmas sprit yet? If not just go to 900 Central Street, Leominster, and stand in the yard. The smell of Fraser and Balsom trees will bring the spirit of the season to the coldest of hearts,{ even mine.} Bart has been selling trees for over thirty years. We sell eight hundred trees a year. We have a tree for every one.
Small for people in a apartment and big for the people who have huge houses. We have a couple dozen eleven foot trees. It is hard to find these trees, most people who sell trees don't want to bother with big trees, because they are so big they are hard to handle. The best trees are the Fraser Firs, they cost us more, but are a better grade than balsom. Every tree gets a fresh cut, put in the shaker, {what stuff comes out of these trees. Grass, needles, bitds nests} all that stuff that you will not drag into your house. The trees get bagged and tied on the car. This is a great deal. A woman can come by herself and the guys do all the work. We have candy canes, and a display of Christman figureines for the kids. It is not fancy, but the kids love it. They have been coming year after year, so they know what to expect. You can't beat listening to them laugh and yell when they run through the yard, looking for the perfect tree. I doubt that we will do trees down there next year, but knowing Bart., who knows. The greenhouse is going up, on South Road. I asked Bart if he thought it is big enough? It is ninety feet long, it will give him something to do in March, so he will not be under my feet. We have a lot of customers in Leominster who were very upset that we will not be there next year. Well, they can take a road trip, and find out the world does not stop, if they drive West on Rt.2 Bev.

  1. Bev, what are trees selling for, I would make the trip from Templeton to Leominster to buy a tree if they are similar priced, Not looking for a deal but don't want to make the trip and pay "City" prices

  2. There is a good reason that we sell eight hundred trees a year, and we have repeat customers. Our trees are a better quality than alot of tree sellers buy. We keep our prices affordable. Like Bart says, we have a tree for every budget. We don't have "city prices," on anything we sell, but I don't know what the people are charging up here. I think I looked last year and thought the trees Jon was selling across from my sisters were high. We have some plain wreaths, and John decorates some. We do this, so the guys that work for us make some money, and our grandchildren get money for Christmas. Bev

    1. We always pay sales taxes and fed taxes, because we are a real business. If we were a guy that just bought a few trees and sold them on the side of the road, those people can get away with not fileing taxes. If you think I want the IRS, or the DOR after me, your nuts. It is easier to just pay your taxes in the first place. Bev

    1. We open seven days a week. John is usually there about 9:00. We close about 6:00 for the first couple of weeks. We stay open later around the eighth of December. Bev
