Citizen
Petition for November Town Meeting
I
have distributed the signature sheets for the Citizen Petition to a few places
and a few people. I just dropped a few sheets off to CO&S garage. The sheets will need to be turned in by
October 29th to the BOS office.
If
you would like to gather signatures for this project or would like to sign the
citizens petition, please call me (Julie Farrell) at 978-939-2501 or
978-340-2503. We will need over 200 signatures for this article to be placed on
the STM warrant. If 20 people gather 10 signatures we will meet our goal.
I
feel an investigation is warranted for a number of these issues. At the very
least, an investigation will put to rest these issues. My motivation for this
citizen petition is because I believe Pauly’s complaints should be taken
seriously. Pauly is in no condition to drive this project forward right now.
Pauly has asked the BOS to vote for an investigation by the Attorney General’s
Office. The BOS has refused the request.
The
wording of the petition:
Investigation by Attorney
General Citizen Petition
To see if the Town will vote to petition the General Court
for special legislation as set forth below; provided, however, that the General
Court may make clerical or editorial changes of form only to the bill which
shall be within the scope of the general public objectives of this petition, or
take any other action relative thereto:
An Act Relative to Request
an Investigation by the Attorney General into the Following Incidents in the
Town of Templeton.
The
citizens of the Town of Templeton hereby request an investigation by the
Attorney General into the following incidents:
An
investigation into the activities of the Municipal Building Committee to
include all transactions regarding the purchase of the 252 Baldwinville Road
property and the USDA loan application process.
An
investigation into the procedures and activities to allow the settlement and
return of a gift of $369,681.40 to Casella Waste Systems on November 13, 2008.
An
investigation into the activities and actions of the Templeton Board of
Selectmen and the Templeton Municipal Light Department to enact Chapter 93 Acts
of 2000.
An
investigation into the activities and actions of legal counsel, Kopelman &
Paige, regarding case 02-2424C heard before Judge Cornetta of Worcester
Superior Court as well as the settlement of the Templeton Waste Water Treatment
plant lawsuit and the Writs of Attachment.
Time for the citizen/shareholders to take action!
My
opinions…supported by FACTS ! !

If people come to the BOS meeting on Monday night, there will be people there that will have the petition available to sign. So, this is all the more reason to attend tomorrow's meeting at 6pm at KIVA. Please take this petition seriously. This is our money and our town that has been handled poorly. If you want to clear the air on these issues, if you want to help your town evolve, please take a couple hours out of your evening tomorrow night to attend the meeting and to sign this petition. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteRemember you need to be a citizen of Templeton, and be a registered voter to officially sign the petition, to make your signature count. Call me if you can't leave your house, and I will come to you. This is one of the most important things this town will accomplish this year. We have already made town government more efficient. We have Mr. Ritter as our Town Cooridinator, Mr. Spring leading the Advisory Board, and having new town council. These things are helping to get the town, back on track. We need to have a clean slate, and this is the only way to get it done. Please call me if you can't get out of the house. My home phone is 978-939-5556 Bev.
