Monday October 22^nd at 6:30pm there is a Selectmen’s meeting that is very important. Please try to attend. These are your tax dollars not to mention your town! If you need a babysitter, I’m sure there are a lot of capable students at Narragansett that could babysit and could use a few (several) bucks. Even if one adult from each family attended. Here’s why.

1 – Under “other business” is to discussion & action on 252 Baldwinville Rd Bond. Now for those of you that do not know – back in May 2010 at the Annual Town Meeting (the third night of TM at sometime after 10:30PM ) along came “Article 64” asking to raise, appropriate or transfer the money on purchasing  and architectural  services for 252 Baldwinville Road (the boondoggle). I remember that night well – about 118 people checked in to the auditorium that night, By the time Act 64 came up there could not have been more than 80 people left. I can’t remember the count of the vote – yeahs vs nays. But the yeahs won, GS, CS, DOB, BC, Dana B, Shawn G. Oh how I wish they video taped the Town Meetings. Oh yes these people made this huge financial decision for the town. By passing it “under the levy limit” it did not have to go to a vote at the polls.   So a lot of you didn’t have any say. Let’s face it not a lot of voters can make it to the town meetings. This was a sneaky deal. Well because of this – the building committee headed by GS purchased 252 Baldwinville Rd (p&S signed by Chairman Obrien) and they continued to spend money on it another $300,000.00 on design fees etc. Waste Waste Waste. Soooo  we now must pay back this $700,000.00 for a piece of crap building. Think about it we could have bought a piece of property (vacant) for a lot less. Or put this money toward the ET school. Now because this was voted under the levy limit – this means that the payments  will have to come out of the budget. SO the big questions on Monday night will be do we finance this $700,000.00 over 5 years or more. These people took $700,000.00 of our money and just threw it away!!!!!! And let’s not forget that one of our selectmen PM still has breakfast with GS just about every morning– right Pete?  Hope he’s not taking lessons on how to screw the town as a selectmen.

My opinion sell sell sell – Put that building up for sale, because it is town owned it has to go out to bid. So let’s do it asap. What ever we can get for it – it money we don’t have to pay. And there are a few companies including DD that are looking for areas to move to. Right off rte 2 – excellent location. Let’s sell what land we have taken for taxes.

Then lets go after the back taxes owed the town, we are getting a new treasurer, hope he’s very aggressive with the people who have not paid taxes in years.
