Welcome to November 2012, This is one of those months that make you realize you should have spent more time outside in the sun, instead of at your computer writing a blog,or sitting at some of the meetings we have all attended. Really, all that time was important. Just think of all the changes that have been made. I went back to read some of the things I had written or Bart wrote, like in March or April of last year. There has been alot of change, but in some ways, things are still the same! Monday night, at the selectmens meeting they went over the warrent for the special town meeting. When they got to the article we put in, asking for a investigation, no body, in the front of the room bat an eye. This is the time that will tell, if we can get this passed on town meeting floor. This investigation needs to be done! There are no ifs ands or buts about it! This investigation, will bring out all the dirt that has been swept under the rug, throw it out the door or maybe in jail. The things that were done to get Scrappy elected were not ok! He has spent 3/4 of his term hiding under the desk, offered absolutely nothing of any value, just taking up that chair,so that no one else could use it! I think he will run again! All of a sudden he spoke a few words!! OH BOY, OH BOY! He even showed some action at Monday's meeting, He killed a bug !! How you go Scrappy!!. All of this may sound cute, but he does nothing to be prepared, to bring good guestions or comments, like Julie does or Jeff always did. The 252 Baldwinville disaster, we all know about that, but alot of people need to be held accountable. All of the things in that article, are important to Templetons future. The basic issue is, we the gave them the job of running the town, we put our trust in them and they betrayed it. Poor choices of how to spend out tax dollars, have put us very close to a financial disaster! Your taxes are going to go up! There is no way to avoid this. The 252 boondoggle, has to be paid back, there is no place to take it from! Think things are hard now??Just hold on to your hat, watch your budget, WE HAVE TO PAY FOR GS'S SCREW UPS!!! Well, there is no sun to sit in, but I guess there is always things to do. OH yes, time to give a big thank you, to Mr. Ritter, he is doing a good job for the people in the Town of Templeton. At a time like this, we need all the help we need. Bev.
Please take some time to educate yourself on the issues which have caused a lot financial problems for the town. I have posted a few blogs and have added links to all of the documents I have reviewed before reaching my opinions. The documents can be viewed at :
ReplyDeletehttp://www.citizens4templeton.com/Important_Documents.html
I will be adding more documents before the special town meeting. All of the documents that are linked have been obtained by public record request. researchers would refer to these documents as primary source material. Meeting minutes, legal invoices, warrant posting, by-laws are all considered primary source material.
Please review these documents yourself. Please comment if you reach a different conclusion.
A vote for the article for an investigation is a vote for honest government. A vote against the article for an investigation is a vote for the status quo. It may turn out that the State of Massachusetts does nothing in regards to our complaints but at least we tried.
ReplyDeleteI truly believe it will be extremely difficult for anyone to look at all the information that has been gathered, and have them tell us there was nothing done wrong. Time will tell, it seems the good guys should win, at least once and a while. If there is nothing wrong, with running a town off the rails, and over the cliff, only to have the person with the stearing wheel in his hands, say he was not driving, then we have a real problem. If a town has no way to find justice, then we should give the crooks, a open door. For there will be no need for anyone in the future to be honest! The less than honorabe can just take up space in every town hall, in every little town in America, to get fat and rich, and just up and leave, when there is nothing left but debt! Oh yes, we are left, the poor, middle and lower class residents. Left behind to dig their towns out of the big hole. Sorry, but this is not the fairy tale that your mother ever told you! This is my opinion, I really wish it was not true!! Bev.
DeleteThe good people of Templeton pay $25,000.00 per year to have their financial books looked over and for a few years, the advice given was not followed or acted upon. Why is that? So why now would the good people of Templeton refuse to ask for other stuff to be looked at? Why not look at past practices, past procedures, past accounting, and see if there is any pattern that may give rise to a conspiracy of dishonesty, unethical actions, and I think one glaring example would be the DOR report of Templeton's financial and political governance. Ask who may have benefited or who might have benefited financially by past pratices and / or possible actions had said actions been followed thru on. One thing was the move to make the Board of Selectmen sewer Commissioners. Gerald Skelton wanted the selectmen to be sewer commissioners so his wife, then town coordinator, would be in charge of sewer administration and thus would need an increase in salary which would then lead to an increase of pension down the road. This is how Gerald Skelton got such a cushy pension, look at the records of salary for light & water manager. Now if the selectmen could not run the water department and the water department had to be merged with the light department to make it a viable entity of the town of Templeton again, how or why was the selectmen expected to run the sewer dept. better than the then electd sewer commissioners? Oh yeah, Gerald Skelton's arch enemy on the select board was Julie Farrell and her husband Pete was a sewer commissioner. This is all my opinion of course and my theory, but if it worked for Geradl Skelton at light & water, it could have worked for his wife. Unfortunately for Gerry is he tied his wagon to Bob Columbus, who went after the town treasurer Tammy Coller and some guy did not think that was right, especially when a few selectmen lied to that guy at a selectmen meeting and that guy eneded up going after Gerald and managed to defeat him in an election. Oh yeah, that was me. See, Gerry lied to Pauly about the salary of the con com agent and we got Pauly's blog, then he lied to me and gave me the run around about the Tammy Coller thing and he got me to run for selectmen, then he really pulled a good one and tied his tail to Bob Columbus and we all know how that finally ended up at. See Bev, the good guys do win one every now n then. We then got Will Spring on advisory and of Course do not forget Dave Bergeron who let us "draft" him for moderator. The good people of Templeton should keep pushing forward and demand answers for many things. They should listen to the tape of the meeting where Pauly was banned from town hall and they will really see who the bad guys are. All of this is my opinion from my vacation hideaway here in Afghanistan. Please take the time to vote and to attend town meeting and most importantly, educate yourself about the issues before hand.
ReplyDeleteJeff, Is that the election, where Pauly said something to the effect that "our friend Gerry, was a looser, but walked out a winner?" Something to that effect?/ It was a good thing you listened to your friend, and asked for a recall. I think that was when you really, really won. Yes, thank goodness, the good guys win once and a while. That reminded me of, in the seventies, when Gladys asked for a recall, and I could see the Town Clerk, trying to get the envelope to stay closed! Seems someone, opened that envelope, and I'll be dammed,it did not want to stick together!! Fixed election, you bet, but we were trusting and dumb, there was nothing she could do. We were never so trusting again. If Gladys had not died, we would never be in this mess. She would not have put up with the crap that has gone on. The next best thing we can do, is to work to clean house, and rebuild our town. Our disaster was not from mother nature, it is man made, but as much of a disaster, in a great sence of the word. We are ahead of the game, for that we can be thankfull. We have big, big debt, taxes are going up, due to wrong doings, the town has no money in reserve, due to bad management, but we have a bed to sleep in, and a good group that is not afraid to fight the fight, for all of us. It will come out in the wash, and the water is going to be very, very dirty. My opinion, Bev
