Communication

Communication

Part 1 of the  March 23, 2015 Templeton BOS Meeting

Part 2 of the  March 23, 2015 Templeton BOS Meeting

It seems to me that while communication has improved between departments, we still have room for improvement.

There has been discussion in the past about the water department's lack of cooperation in following the procedure for a road cut permit from the Highway department (no fee for permit). The current issue of the Depot Rd water main break, could have been handled much better by all parties involved. If the water department Supt. had filled out  or called in the road cut on Depot Rd., then the highway department would have been aware of the issue and prepared to sand Depot Rd. Waiting until 2:50 pm to make the call for sanding increases the cost to treat the issue in a timely manner - without incurring OT costs. Because those OT costs are not borne by the water department, does it really matter?

Last time I checked, most people pay both taxes AND a Water Bill ! Is it really too much to ask that the water department abide by the rules and regulations in Templeton? Is that an unreasonable expectation?

  1. Mr. Driscoll takes any situation that makes the people who work for the town look bad, and jumps on it. The Light and Water Departments are not willing to help with the cost of other departments, by giving the town a decent PILOT, but wants everyone to jump when he says jump. This man does not have a clue how to be the least bit diplomatic, and it appears he has no intention of learning. Do I think J.D. would follow the rules, and do things the right way ?? No !! Good luck Mr.Markel in dealing with this guy!! Bev.
