North Quabbin to Celebrate Women’s History Month in March 14th Program at ARRMS
An opportunity to connect with and to celebrate women

(ATHOL) – Athol Regional Schools, the Athol Women’s Club, AOTV, and Denise Andrews have joined together again to deliver the second North Quabbin Women’s History Month Celebration Program.

Women's History Month is an annual declared month worldwide that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. It is celebrated during March in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, corresponding with International Women's Day on March 8; and during October in Canada, corresponding with the celebration of Persons Day on October 18.

The second North Quabbin Women’s History Month Celebration will be held Saturday, March 14th at the Athol Royalston Regional Middle School Cafeteria, 1062 Pleasant Street, Athol from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The program will consist of recognizing the Unsung Heroines of the North Quabbin, comments from Congressman Jim McGovern on the importance of celebrating women’s history, comments from Senator Elizabeth Warren (via video) and then a panel of amazing and diverse women who are serving in leadership roles in Massachusetts.

After the program we will network, mingle and enjoy refreshments provided by the Athol Women’s Club.

The panelists for the program are:

Anne Gobi, State Senator of the Worcester, Hampden, Hampshire and Middlesex District
Marisa Hebble, Director Opioid Task Force
Mary Tuitt, Vice Chair MA Commission on the Status of Women
Deb Habib, Co-founder Seeds of Solidarity Farm and Seeds of Solidarity Education Center Inc.

Everyone is invited, as it is a program that both men and women will benefit from attending.

An understanding of how women have gone through life, have made their choices, and are currently making contributions to our communities will benefit all people, but especially our young women, as they strive to excel, succeed and contribute to their communities.

The event is free and open to the public; all ages are welcome; and no RSVP is necessary. We hope to see you there and urge you to invite your family and friends.

“Never limit yourself because of others' limited imagination; never limit others because of your own limited imagination.” Mae Jemison, astronaut.

“Don't compromise yourself. You are all you've got.” Janis Joplin, American singer.
