Can anyone tell me why this BOS is so opposed to following its own Policies and Procedures? Are they afraid of the public?

1. Reading of the Agenda
2. Public Comment
3. Town Administrator Report
4. Scheduled Business
5. Topics not Reasonably Anticipated by the Chairman 48 Hours in Advance
6. Selectman Reports/Future Agenda Items
7. Adjournment
I find it completely unacceptable that the BOS is all "Policies and Procedures" for every department in town, yet they refuse to follow the Policies and Procedure set out for them!
ReplyDelete"Do what I say and not as I do" is a pathetic method to manage.
Why should anyone follow the direction of the BOS when they are not following their own? This is the responsibility of the Chairman and the TA. The absolute arrogance to tell other to follow procedure while completely disregarding their own should be reason for removal from office.
What right does the BOS/TA have to unilaterally disenfranchise the taxpayers right to speak at the BOS meeting? They have removed the public comment section from every agenda I've seen, why?
I understand its much nicer to talk amongst yourselves, get your own answers without all those taxpayer distractions, but the BOS and TA work for..............TAXPAYERS and not the other way around.

The Boards and Committee's of Town have openings:
Economic Development Committee has 1 opening,
Templeton Advisory Committee has 1 opening,
Capital Planning Committee has openings.

This shows me the TA/ BOS and Holly are not doing the job required, period! Based on our own Policies and Procedures we cannot even post openings accurately, up to date.
If The Administration can't even do the little things with any form of accuracy or by following stated Policies and Procedures HOW CAN WE TRUST THEM TO MAKE DECISIONS AFFECTING TAXPAYERS WALLETS?
Why is the TA screening being held at the NRHS library, at 3:45 in the afternoon ? What is wrong with the Town Hall ?? Why at 3:45 when most people are still working and this meeting cannot be recorded, if it is held there ?? Something stinks !! Bev.

ReplyDeleteThe town is run by the schools..............they have a bigger budget, Administration and voting block than our town.
How did you like the little parade before the town meeting. Anyone think that was a ploy to avoid anyone commenting again about the "special election" as it was a much smaller group, much less organized and will not be there next fall...............
