At the selectmen working meeting on Monday night, a comment was made that the board will solicit requests for proposals for town counsel for FY 18 which begins on July 1st.

Caveat:

Town counsel will only be able to provide good advice when town counsel is kept informed of issues, including town meetings.

Town counsel will only be able to protect the town, if it is allowed to review documents like CONTRACTS BEFORE said documents are SIGNED. 

Templeton is about to restart the largest capital project in its history - Templeton Elementary School.

This project restart is being undertaken without a bond rating, without a full time permanent town administrator, without a treasurer/collector in place that can handle all financial aspects of this project.

Recent history has shown that the Town of Templeton can't handle correctly  placing a contract out to bid in accordance with Chapter 30 B procurement laws.

The legal consequences of mishandling contracts and bids for the largest capital project in Templeton's history can be financially catastrophic. Will be financially catastrophic.
