ATTENTION Narragasett Parents
After reading the Gardner News - I am seeing more problems in Templeton - Narragansetts decision not to allow the eight graders to visit Monty Tech - the Superintendent search, the chairman on the school committee not listening to parents (wow his last name is Columbus too) I would like to invite Narragansett parents to post to my blog. email your comments on the school issues in a word format as an attachment to cosentinosalvage@hotmail.com and I will be glad to post them. (keep them clean)

On the Monty Tech issue:
ReplyDelete1) Have you asked Monty Tech if they are up for prospect days still (it's highly competitive now, they don't have to go looking for prospects any longer)
2) Does anyone expect NRSD to take graduating seniors around to colleges? Why should eigth graders be different.
3) Isn't the job of NRSD to educate the youth of the district, not take them on over nights or other 'road trips'?
4) I think there is this growing perception on the part of parents that the school system should be more parent, owning the responsibility to take students to Boston, NY, DC, Whale Watches, Ski Trips, or slumber parties.
5) I think NRSD deserves high marks if they teach the students to be able to be educatable and functional in society once they graduate.
If an interested child participates in the VIP program they avail themselves of a much richer experience than a lunch and walk of the grounds there.
